I started with the rear.

You have to pull out all the rear trunk panels...

to get to this!

This is the MP3 strut and Progress coil in place. Don't forget to cut the stock bump stop in half before reassembling everything like someone did here! At least it all came apart a lot easier the second time!

Here's the final result for the rear.

Moving on to the front. Here is the stock strut/coil assembly on the left, and the new Progress coil assembly on the right.

Here is the new front assembly installed.

Yes... it is definitely lower!
1 1/8" in the rear.
1 7/16" in the front.
I got a front end alignment done right away. The toe was out over an inch after the drop!

Coming up next...
This B&M Short Shifter kit.
mspeedP5's 2002 Mazda Protege5

This kit was a breeze to install! The kit comes with very clearly illustrated instructions and the included photos are all for the Protege application. The shift throw has been reduced by about 40% and it now feels very precise with absolutely no play whatsoever. This is definitely a great upgrade!

Well I thought I'd install a front mask for the winter to protect the nose from all the crap they dump on the roads.

mspeedP5's 2002 Mazda Protege5 It doesn't look too bad.
I am getting the stock rims powder-coated charcoal grey. When they are ready, I'll put them back on the car with the original all-season Dunlops for the winter.

Hey again, I read your thread on the turbo build, and wow mass respect for going thru all that and not giving up!!! I probably woulda thrown the white flag, but once your in that far you almost have to see it to the end! I'm glad you did because you show what a P5's potential can be, because these ain't no honda's with a billion options, keep it up and keep checking up on mine!! peace.
