History of this 1972 Chevrolet Nova:
This car in particular, is one that is very rare to come by. Why? Because the car has been in the family since new and my father drove it off the lot in 1972.
My father bought the car new in 1972 in Brunswick, GA at a dealership that no longer exists called, "Coastal Chevrolet". Daddy said he bought the car for about $4,000, off the lot. As soon as the bought it, he went over to his mothers house, Mrs. Hazel, and gave her the keys. It was her first and only new car that she ever owned.
She was very proud of my dad for doing such a thing for her, as giving her a car, but not only that, a pretty nice one! There are several pictures that I have of grandma with the car or family hanging out around the car back in the mid 80's, but I would have to really search to find those.
When my dear grandmother passed, my dad talked with the family, and dad got the car back, especially since no one else really wanted the car. The Nova itself was a car that I grew up around and was always in love with it! When I was younger, I would beg dad to take me for a ride in it, with me being only 8 or so, and it having a hole in the exhaust and I got excited because it was loud, haha, back in the days of it having its stock single exhaust pipe.
Since we have gotten it back, I have been taking it slowly, with help from my father, to rebuild this car in honor of my grandmother. I plan on when finished (whenever that may be), to paint on the rear fender, the dash, and inside the engine compartment "Ole' Hazel". But on the dash I want "In Loving Memory of Hazel". This ones for you grandma!
