WELCOME TO MY OBSESSION!!!!!

Thanks to all for your votes for Showoff Of The Week. Your support and votes made this rig a winner in the second week of 2006, and to date, the oldest ride to win SOTW. I'm truely honored to be among the Gods in the SOTW. THANKS!!!!
June 2010 was some beautiful weather, and I had my truck out in the sunshine quite often. Here's some pictures from whenever I brought it out....

this next picture is of almost all my cars. My yellow truck, my 1985 Toyota Supra, my 2001 Chevy Tahoe and my 1995 Nissan Maxima (rest in peace). Since this picture, my younger son had an accident in the Maxima, and we no longer have it. Missing from this picture is my 1955 Willys Pickup. It's a future off road project, but is currently waiting patiently.

In May of 2010, my son and his High School auto shop class took on the task of swapping big ass tires onto new wheels. Yep, boggers. Here's some pictures of their progress....

In April of 2010, I slapped on my "new" boggers (new to me) on crappy rims to see how they would fit. Yep. Fit's like a GLOVE. Snapped this picture just to give people an idea of what I will be doing (some day)

Last weekend, Dave and I went out in the hills above Cle Elum to scout for some new hunting grounds for this coming turkey season. Last year we drove in his rig all the way over to Spokane. Not trekking that far this year. We've opted to keep it a little simpler. Anyways, here are a couple pictures of the trip...

This was the first place we stopped. Pretty much just to get out and stretch the legs for a few minutes. The kids ran around and played in the snow, which was about 18 inches deep or so off the side of the road. Didn't sink in exactly how much snow I was standing on because it was packed down by snowmobiles.
The next time we stopped was because Dave was leaking ATF from his rig. We made an immediate decision to turn around and head back down the mountain. Here's what happened......

I backed up and tried to turn around, but as soon as my back tires left the compacted snow.... THUMP. Sank right in and all the way to the axle. Took Dave and I about 2 hours to fully get me out. Then, about 1000 yards down the road, I backed into another ditch and did it again. That one took less time, but I've decided that it's time to build a new bumper and get a winch.
Here's the rigs on the way home. Sorry for the lack of pictures. I was too stressed out to take more.

Happy New Year everyone! Did some more work on the truck to ring in the new year. Wired up my light bar to the bed floor. The wires are routed into a trailer plug so the whole light bar is removable as one piece. The glove box switches control two lights at a time starting from the outside and working into the center. This is how it works.........

Sofa King Sweet!!!!!
December 16, 2009:
Probably the last post of the year, as she's put away in the garage now due to the rainy season. So sad. But we took the trucks out with the women and children to get Christmas trees. Good times had by all, and good pictures too. Even Dirick made it out this time in his "Exploder". Which, did surprisingly well considering he's on street tires and doesn't sit as high as I do, and nowhere close to Dave and his Monster F350.
Now..... on to the pictures....

October 14 Update:
It's getting a little bit over-the-top. I almost wonder when I'm going to come to my senses....

I've done a LOT of work lately. Started in the fall with an axle swap that went totally wrong. What I thought would take a day, took 6 months.

But it's done! Front and back. Dana 44 in the front with disk brakes. And a corporate 12 bolt in the back, still with drums. BIG difference. Love it. Harder than hell to steer, but it looks awesome.

Some recent engine pictures. She's running good!!!

A couple other things done lately. How about Billet Aluminum step guards! Ball milled. Toooooo sweet.

More stereo and electronic stuff done as well. 6 light up toggle switches in the glove box. 4 will operate 4 individual pairs of lights on the roll bar. The last 2 will operate neon underglow. One full set under the body. Another full set in the fender wells.

the gear shifter is a .44 Magnum revolver with shell casings in it. The transfer case shifter is a chrome plated gernade. Pin and all.

And now, I have THIS.........

Though, Dave's truck still dwarfs mine....

Took the truck out again yesterday and got a couple new pictures. Enjoy...

I put on a new addition to my truck last weekend. A brand new fender emblem from LMC truck. Looks pretty damn good!

And my newest purchase for my truck.... A ROLLBAR! Picked it up at a yard sale for 40 bucks. What a steal!

Decided to take my beast to the gas station for a quick drink... On the way back, I snapped a few new pictures. Here they are...

I took the truck outside and decided to take some updated pictures while it was out in the open. Glad I did because they turned out GREAT!
The beast on the driveway - finally out of the garage.

I plan on fixing the damage on the hood and painting purple flames over the area that gets fixed... good idea or bad??? Vote your opinion on the poll, or sign the guestbook and give me specific details. Actually... SIGN THE GUESTBOOK ANYWAYS!!!

* * * * *
I had the truck out again this weekend and snapped off a few more pics. Here they are with a brief description.
So, here are a couple pictures of my amp that will go under the seat.

I also got my new chrome center caps this week, and just had to put them on. Open centers in the front and solid in the back. I think they look AWESOME!

My new antenna...

New tie down hooks for the bed stakes...

And finally, new pedal pads for the brake and clutch.

It sure is great to get new parts. Too bad it's all the money I have right now and won't have any for a while longer. I guess the exhaust will have to wait.
Now... this is NOT my truck, but is EXACTLY where I am going to in all my efforts. If I can get to this point... I'll consider myself very lucky. It's amazing to find a rig like this out there. Especially if you consider that it's over 40 years old and is nearly identical to my own.

LINE-X OBSESSION... Love the color scheme and of course the big tires. WOAH!!!
