EXHAUST SYSTEM: Here are some pictures of MAGNAFLOW'S (Released late in '08) 100% Polished Stainless Steel, Complete 3 inch Mandrel Bent Exhaust System (for 92-96 LT-X Corvette's) http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/displayapplications.asp?partnumber=16837 ........This system really has "everything" us modified 92-96 LT-X guys have been waiting for...... Over the years, I've had several different exhaust system set-ups on this car.... I had the (1st version) 3 inch B&B system on the car (with no cats), which was put up for sale "immediately" after driving the car around the block a couple times after the installation, LOL. (REALLY HORRIBLE RESONANCE IN THE CAR)...... Then I had the very popular Corsa Power Pulse System (again with no cats), which was really nice material wise "AND" quality wise (much like this newer magnaflow system) but it was "and still is to this day" only offered in the 2.5 inch size tubing, which is actually narrower (in some sections) than the 92-96 Corvette's factory 2 3/4 inch (non-mandrel bent) system.... and it also still uses the older technology, less efficient H-Pipe in it's system, Verses a well designed X-Pipe like Magnaflow went with.... A properly designed (and placed) X-Pipe works much better to balance out the exhaust pressure, and pulses from bank to bank, and they also can help a bit with resonance (Plus, they actually do add some Torque, where as with the H-Pipes, they can be completely "hit or miss" depending on their exact placement in the exhaust system)...........Anyway, After all of my Semi-disappointing exhaust system trials over the years on this car.... I had actually switched back to my Factory exhaust system (With Headers & Without cats), and just planned (in the near future) to do a nice custom 3 inch stainless steel system with an X-pipe in it , and some magnaflow mufflers, then this system just happened to come along....

Polished tips are ''4 inches in diameter

I went thru www.hottexhaust.com for this Magnaflow # 16837 system, and much of my past exhaust stuff over the years....they're really awesome to deal with....If anyone needs a coupon code for purchasing something from their website....just shoot me a message on here.....I still have some active coupon codes that take quite a bit off their advertised prices (sometimes hundreds on certain systems.)

This picture "above" was taken "looking into" the Mufflers single 3 inch "entry" pipe.... You can see inside that it then splits into two tubes which continues on out to the "Dual" 4 inch diameter polished tips.... The Magnaflow mufflers are a Strait-Thru design "Perforated Tube" type muffler....They have no baffles or abrupt walls inside, or anything changing the direction of the exhaust flow (which would easily create greater back-pressure (which is NEVER wanted in a performance application)..... Those wives tales that we've all heard from some moron stating that "engines like some back-pressure" to perform best.... We'll, nothing could be further from the truth.... The fact is: 99% of ALL performance engines will pick-up Horsepower and/or Torque when running with the proper size open headers W/the correct size & length collectors (compared to "ANY" full exhaust system out there).... Point Being: The closer that you can get to this "NON-back pressure" (High-Scavenging) scenario, the better performance you will get from the engine , Period.... An Exhaust system is one of those area's where your balancing how much performance you want (or can live with giving up), against how much noise your willing to put up with, LOL.
These pictures show the TPIS Long-Tube Header's 3 inch collectors, and the slip-on extension pipes that I fabed up (from 3 inch pipe) that connect up to the New Magnaflow system.......The Complete Magnaflow #16837 system is meant to be a "direct" bolt on system... but that's of course only if you still have the very restrictive factory cast iron exhaust manifolds (and the restrictive factory cats).........As far as my connections here, I could have made some much simpler connections by just welding the pipes in place, but I wanted to be able to remove the system quickly and easily with some Heavy Duty stainless band clamps.......I'll get some sound clips up soon, since several guys have been asking how it sounds.
