This is my father's 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 convertible. All stock(except for the radio). Not numbers matching, but it is an original 396/402, A/C, convertible car. Assembled in Kansas City, Missouri. He purchased it on August 24, 1982 for $4,800. In the winter of 1984/1985, he tore apart the whole front clip & re-stored it, & got new body panels & got it re-painted. The only original sheet metal on it is the doors. It is powered with a 396/402 350 HP Chevy BB with a good old Rochester Quadra-Jet carburetor(from a 1974 350). In the winter of 2002/2003, we redid the whole interior with parts supplied by NPD. New front seat covers & foam, new carpet, new convertible top boot, re-painted all plastic trim, & dash board. Original interior parts are: all door panels, back seat & center counsel. We installed a stock AM/FM radio in the dash (not original) and installed a Pioneer double din with remote control under the dash that came out of a Ford Ranger Tremor. We have 2 Pioneer 6x4 speakers, in homemade speaker boxes in the back seat & 2, 5" round Pioneer speakers mounted under the dash (also in homemade speaker boxes). In the winter of 2004/2005, we re-detailed the engine & engine compartment. We have 2 of the 2 original build sheets from the car that we re-made in Microsoft Excel. We also re-made the window sticker in Excel. The strange thing about this car is that it was not sent to a dealership to be sold. On the build sheet it reads: "SHIPPED VIA WILLOW RUN RAMP" "FIN AWARD CAR", where it SHOULD have the dealer it was sent to. If you would like to know anything else about the car, feel free to e-mail me at hazus00@gmail.com and I will reply ASAP. Don't forget to rate!
