2002 SUNSET ORANGE METALLIC PONTIAC TRANS AM FIREHAWK Production #0162 of 1505

SOMHawk2002's 2002 Pontiac Firehawk

NATIONAL MEDIA COVERAGE!

USA Today Online has created a special photographic tribute to Pontiacs of note to honor the passing of this once great GM Icon.

My Firehawk made the cut, and is the only contemporary Trans Am featured. It's car number 30 of 34. The Gallery is Week Ended May 7 (Reader Pontiacs).

See it here: http://www.usatoday.com/money/gallery/autos/cars-news/flash.htm

As the previous owner of 7 F-Bodies dating back to my 1984 Camaro Z-28 H.O., I knew it was time to get my hands on the very last Firehawk to ever be produced when the end was announced in the spring of 2001. Already driving a very nice 1999 Trans Am, I placed my order for the rarest color combination: Sunset Orange Metallic with Camel interior and automatic transmission.

It took exactly 12 weeks to the day to receive my Firehawk from the time I ordered it until I took delivery. It didn't take too long after that for me to start making minor but tasteful modifications to it.

Hard to believe, but it's been seven years since all that happened, and I still own and drive my Firehawk Trans Am today, though only on special occasions and to car shows to collect awards and trophies. I took it off the road after two years of daily driving, and keep it as clean and preserved as possible. I still love to take it out on a sunny weekend and show it off.

There are many fast and beautiful cars available today, but none will ever compare to the finest and last Trans Am ever built in 2002. I hope you enjoy visiting my car as much as I enjoy owning it.
