The Impala was first unvieled as a concept car at the 1956 GM Motorama Car Show. People thought of it as a "Dream Car." The Impala combined the sportiness of a Corvette with the luxury of a Caddilac. The media liked the car so much that GM decide to put the Impala into production in 1958. Chevrolet designated the Impala as the top-of-the-line Chevrolet for 1958. The 1964 Impala is what seems to be a popular car to be modified. If you have ever seen the video "Nuthin' but a G Thang" by Dr. Dre, then you will have seen a 1964 Impala SS Convertible complete with a hydraulics kit and Dayton Wire Wheels. The new 2000 Impala doesn't even deserve to be an Impala for what Chevrolet has done to it. It just looks like a Malibu. Now it is front-wheel drive, and only musters 200 horsepower. But we still have a legend in the 94-6 SS, the last of the true musclecars.
