-E85 tune

Updates:

9-3-09     Haven't updated this for a while.  Car now needs a head gasket, so I'm going with a Permatorque and some L19's.  Also decided since the car won't be running till next spring anyways, I might as well go big or go home, so I picked up a SCM6152e custom fit to a Garrett journal bearing center section.  I also picked up a turbonetics manifold, a TiAL knockoff wastegate, and some other small things.  Hopefully by spring this fucker should be running good around 25-30 lbs of boost on E85 and be around 450-500 AWHP.  Only time will tell cause the budget is tight...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6-24-09     Ran it for a while today, got some fresh gas in it and now I seem to have an overheating problem.  I have a slim fan on the way, gonna drill a hole in the t-stat and see if that helps.  I am also pretty certain that my turbo needs some new seals, so I'm going to be rebuilding that in the next two weeks or so.  It probably needs some freshening up anyways after about 50k miles of beating, and I got some hook ups so it won't cost more than about 200 bucks.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6-19-09     Finally got the new tranny installed with the help of a friend, took just about 4 hours.  Also ditched the COP for some wires and a stock 1g coil, I was sick of having to pull it off every time I had to replace plugs.  I also replaced the battery and some hose clamps after not being able to start it, and blowing an intercooler hose off.  Now she runs like a champ!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5-26-09     Picked up a new-to-me GVR-4 tranny and t-case for the talon today, looks like I might have a running DSM this summer after all!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4-28-09     Well I figured out last week that there was something wrong with spinning my tires.....The rear wheels were not moving!!  So, I took it in to have it looked at by MAP, and this tranny is junk as well.  After 120 miles of half throttle use, not even one full WOT pull on it, it is junk.  Well, back to the drawing board I guess....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4-14-09     Got the trans all in, new shifter bushings installed and going down the road now.  Tires suck, they don't have much traction at all I spun all 4 through 2nd gear, but it was also pretty chilly out.  Now I REALLY need some suspension work, like lowering it about 2".

I'll Also try to get more pics up soon.

Didn't take out any of the OEM soundproofing material, there really wasn't much of it to begin with, so I'm guessing I would have only lost about 5-10 lbs at most by tearing it out.

Did you take out the sound detination while you had the interior stripped? The car looks clean. I would run ARP headstuds if you havent put them in yet.

Very nice man,. I am guessing it used to be a DL, since it doesn't have any of the TSi ground effects?
