This is what I started with,
1970 Chevrolet C10 Short Step Side

The truck was pretty much the way my friend's dad bought it back in 1969. The truck only had 98,000 miles.
The bed was rusted in many places thanks to many years of cow bathroom breaks. There were a few minor rust spots in the cab, but overall it was very good for a 32 year old Mississippi farm truck. It came equipped with:
250 C.I. Inline 6
3-On-The-Tree Transmission
Manual Steering,
Manual Drum Brakes
HD Rear Springs
Side Mount Spare Tire
Black Vinyl Trim
Camouflage Seat Covering
Medium Olive Green Paint
I started tearing the truck down to restore it back to it's original farm truck look, with a few up grades. As I learned more, I kept getting more ideas, plus I missed being able to drive it.
Then came the IDEA!!
I decided I was really going to fixup/restore the 70 and I decided that I would like it to be a fleetside instead of a stepside truck. I also missed driving a 67-72 truck, so I bought a 69 fleetside truck that I could drive until I had the 70 ready to roll again. Things changed though. The engine and tranny in the 69 left this planet. As I worked on the 69 more I kept discovering more and more rust. The 69 was literally falling to pieces. So I decided to combine the best from both trucks to make one nice 70 Fleeside, and sell what I don't need to recoup some of my losses from the 69.
Here is what the 69 looked like on the purchase day.

One nice thing is the 69 did have the parts I needed to convert the 70 over to a short fleet with a V8 and automatic. As purchased the 69 had....
305 C.I. V8 (early 80s Era)
Turbo 350C Transmission
Power Steering,
Power Drum Brakes
Lowered (Heated) Springs
Edelbrock 1405 Carburetor
Headers & Dual Exhaust
Blank Vinyl Interrior
Bad Black Paint on LOTS of rust
