My Charger is a 1970 R/T S.E.
It wears the original color which is coded as A4 silver.
This color was not available on the 1970 Charger model, it was special ordered. The fender tag which list the paint code is 999 (special order).
It sports a 440 cubic inch motor, rebuilt with upgrades.
A Scott Brown cam. , Edelbrock intake, 750 Quick Fuel carb, Hedman headers, TTI exhaust and Amsoil lubricants from front to rear.
727 automatic transmission, Hemi torque convertor, 8 3/4 3:55 Sure Grip rear axle.
My car is equipped with power disc brakes, power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, leather bucket seats,
am-8track radio, rear window defogger, hood pins, pedal dress up, hood turn signal lights, performance hood paint, Tic-Toc-Tac, and a few other options as well.
I purchased my Charger in 1979, it was my second car. I bought it with the money I earned delivering pizzas. At first glance I thought I had bought the ultimate muscle car (not bad for a 17 year old kid). The real shock came after I decided to touch up my car. A little work with some paint stripper and I began to realize I had one of the original Dukes of Hazzard cars (not really). It had more plastic in it that a tonka toy. There was not a straight panel to be found.
After years of part searching and several different color changes, it was back to the original color time to complete this project.
It also helps to have a neighbor who owns a 1968 Charger R/T.
I just wish when I bought the car there were sites available like 1970 charger registry,
dodge charger.com
and moparts to help me out.
