Accident alert! Driving down Michigan Avenue a few weeks back and some moron on a monster truck ran INTO me. $1400 worth of damage to the right rear door and quarter panel. She looks pretty good, but of course my IPOD connector doesn't work and the center panel is not in place correctly...Are you also thinking - What in the hell did they do to that, to fix the rear door???? Yeah, me too. I finally took it apart though and Im a fu**in moron. Did I think to reset my Ipod first?....
Man, I love this car. Have I mentioned that lately? Here's the thing...moving to Chicago from Massachusetts has been...a wild ride for my car. We have two more cars than we need in the city, where there's nowhere to park. I was trying to distance myself...didn't wash her as much...wasn't driving her much...and was mentally preparing myself to sell her. Now, we're thinking - No. Let's sell our older car and keep the new, comfortable one. So, I'm crawling back to her, asking her for forgiveness for shunning her for the last 6 months. I swear I won't neglect you any more! She will have to deal with the communal parking deal...which has already scratched her 5 times and will continue to happen. Oh well, I'll give her a new bumper paint job every few years.
6/10/09 - Put on her summer S.Drives and she's feelin good. Rear brakes are due to be changed (FINALLY! I bought the damn pads two years ago!), so I'm psyched to put those on. Front brakes have another 50k left on them, which I hear is typical for this car. Picked up a super cheap piston compressor from Harbor Freight - $20!!
Right now, my car (will be referred to as 'she' from here on out) is close to stock with a few added touches. She's an '06 Mazda3 / Touring in Winning Blue
