Re-Assembly Phase

March 1st, 2007
Well, the Velle is home and getting ready to be re-assembled. First, the car is in dire need of detailing!!! I am cleaning, repainting, and redetailing the undercarrige, suspension, and engine compartment......especially the engine. In the 4 pictures below, I have started work on the undercarriage and raditor core support. With the engine, I am going to take off all the chrome parts, buff and reasemble. During this, I will touch up parts on the engine, a quick oil change, tuneup, and some other smaller issues.

The interior floor is finshed and looks great. It's ready for insulation and carpet. Also, I took some time to rebuild and refinish the shifter. Now, I have begun re-detailing the engine and underhood area. I just completed the engine and have begun on cleaning up the inner fenders.

Lately, I haven't had a lot time to work on the Velle. Over the pass two weeks, I finished the engine compartment and have begun to prepare under the hood and hinges for paint. The headlights, marker lights, grill and fender extentsions are finished and installed on the car. It is starting to look like a whole car again!!! I am awaiting a few new parts and I can finish installing the front and rear bumpers along with the head light bezels and fender extention moldings. Still have a lot of work to go!!!

Today I finished the restoration of the trunk area. My trunk pans are original and sold with no rust. I use a rust encapsulator as a base and the black/aqua splatter paint and clear for the top coats. I recently purchased a reproduction herringbone trunk mat, tire cover, posi decal, and jacking instruction decal to put in the trunk to finish it off.
