The stripping process begins!! The whole car is being stripped of its paint. The first step is the chemical process.

Most of this will be sanded off. The next step will be to prime the car with a self-etching primer. Then a second coat of primer will be added and block sanding will begin. The car will be primed and block sanded 5 times to make sure the car is straight as an arrow.

As I was at the shop, the work on the floor boards began. More pictures to come on 1-27-07.

January 27th, 2007
On the 26th, the shop called me on the phone to inform me that my trans and exhaust needed to be removed so that the left floor board could be finish. With that, I went to the shop and pulled my trans and exhaust out. The next two pictures are the floors in progress. The right front toe pan is finished and the whole left floor pan is removed.

The floor boards are complete and from the undercarriage, they have a correct stock appearance. It is very hard to tell if these floor were ever replaced. Now, I can re-install the transmission and exhaust and fire up the car again!!! Over the next few days, the block sanding and body alignment can commence. After that paint!!!!
