Picked this Jeep up from an old boy who used it for nothing more but to haul scrap steel to a yard. It hasn't been liscenced for over 5 years.

I drove it home and started to swap things out immediately. I lifted it then to 4 inches higher than stock and it used to roll on 31" BFG AT's. I put a dana 30 up front and an 8.25 in the rear. An AX-15/231 was robbed from a YJ to put the power to the ground.

We tried to match the paint for this year and got it back on the road.

The following pics are of some of the wheeling I did with the Jeep before I went out and really made it nice this past summer... ;)

Once I went and got these rims, the money kept going into the Jeep.

It now has a Clayton Long Arm Kit, Beefier Bumpers (JCR Offroad front and Hommade Rear), a Rear Dana 44 with a Slip Yoke Eliminator 231 Transfer case + CV driveshaft. I repainted it over the summer of 2007 and got the bed and bumpers done up with spray on bedliner at a local body shop...

Time for an update! It's been about a year and a half since I have updated the page:

I've now graduated college and taken a job in Madison, Wi. The truck remains back home in Michigan with my parents, eventually I'll get it back in my posession when I get my own garage here at my new home. Down the road plans include the purchase of a Rubicon Dana 44 axle to replace my Dana 30. With this will come OX lockers in the front and rear and a gear change to 4:10. Also a beefed up steering system will complete the next step for this project.

The truck has become a part of me, I'll never sell it now :)

Wow, you did a great job at building that thing up. I am the proud owner of a '87 Comanche that is currently 2WD. I'm still not sure if I want to go through the 4WD conversion process, but I do get that urge every now and again. Great work, amazing truck, well done.
