Aug 2007 update

having a cars as a hobby is like seeing shit and stepping on it - why do we still do it? Because of passion

its already over a year and its not done yet. but at least i have (almost) evereything. I'm overbudget and ive veered a little from my original plan.

there were times that i thought about quitting but since i started it, i might as well see it through.. and share it with you guys..

let the pictures tell the story.. i'll elaborate later

my wheels 13x8 Compomotive Deltas for both the front and rear...

I also have sparco non adjustable racing bucket seats
JDM fender mirrors, etc

other stuff i'm gonna get for the car:
-gas shocks
-lowering springs and blocks
-50series tires (if i can find some wide enough) if not ill settle for 60s

The car is being restored in Butuan City, Mindanao. I live in Katipunan, Quezon City so I basically manage the restoration by phone and E-mail.

The following pics are of the day the car was picked up from the original owner who had the car in storage for the past 16 or so years.

The rear brakes were bonded with rust and there were a couple of rust holes in the fenders, the fenderwells and door sills. The interior condition is surprisingly well for a car of this age and for the price I got it for :p

Te car was towed to my uncle's gas station for initial cleaning and further assesment.

This is my first restoration project but i intend to do a full strip to metal restoration and paint the car show quality. I will modify the car but only with era-specific modifications.

I do not have any prior experience and I would really really appreciate some tips and advice on how to go about with my project.

My email Address in JDCR2k1@yahoo.com. Plese feel free to send me your comments and suggestions.
My cell no. is 09175494505
Please give me a call or text if you have old mitsubishi performace parts from the late 70s and early 80s.

Good pm Justin, Dindo here , the one who inquired about the shift knob. My current ride has the same powerplant 4G63 like the one you installed in youe celeste. Man, your car is going to be one very vicious monster bilissss..... I always admired celestes.. However, this year i was fortunate enough to work on my next project car. 1979 lancer bar type... I bought it last sept from a high school classmate..And i'm really struggling with parts... so the search begins.. I do hope I could see the fine work you've done with your celeste around the streets of QC....Great Job
