Ode to the Electric Car
I am very interested in the idea of the electric car. The design possibilities are endless. The latest performance electric vehicles are quite impressive. The little Datsun "White Zombie"
is awesome down the quarter mile. White Zombie
was recently upgraded from lead to lithium batteries, saving SEVERAL hundred pounds. The British Lightning
is awesome, as well as expensive. The Tesla
roadster is too small for me, but still quite impressive
.
I do not like the edgy designs of cars with too many straight lines. Nor do I like the "jelly bean" look of all rounded corners. I yearn for the classic lines of the 275 GTB Ferrari
, 246 Dino
, and 250GT Ferrari
. I like swoopy fenders that blend into the doors and bulging rear fenders housing the big rear wheels. The Shelby Cobra
is awesome, but it is also too small for a big 6'2" guy. I like the look of the covered headlights. Lke the Shelby Daytona
, not the exposed headlights of the AC Ace look of the Cobra.
The dawn of Lithium batteries with ceramic casings has allowed reduced weight with a more compact design. I want a Mega Amp ride that looks like a classic Ferrari.
Please, please, please don't make me settle for mundane design. If I have to, I will take a Nissan Leaf
apart and make my own design complete with swoopy fenders.
