The Steel Horse I Ride is healthy once again.
Noe's Performance built a Livernois 1000hp shortblock.
*
When I bought the Cobra it had a Steeda Advance, K&N filter, aluminum driveshaft, King Cobra clutch, and Bassani X pipe. I have lowered the car 2" with Intrax springs (rides like a floor jack now!), 4.88 ring and pinion, and Flowmaster two chamber mufflers.
*
With the completion of the Spring Modifications '09, I am running CompCams, Spec Stage III clutch, many other goodies, Kooks Long Tube headers, and Bassani exhaust.
*
The stainless steel Bassani cat-back system is beautiful, but....My weld-in Flowmasters were louder and had a lower tone. The Bassani have no interior resonance and have resonators in the exhaust tips. Sound much more subdued than Flowmaster. With my long tube headers and o/r x-pipe, I was expecting some NOISE. I thought I may go back to a Flowmaster exhaust, but there is alot to be said for a subdued exhaust at idle that screams at acceleration.
*
7/14/09--The SPEC stage III clutch is WAY too stiff. Wears out my left quads! I'm going back to the King Cobra clutch.

These are pictures from January 2006. Now that the Summer '09 modifications are done, the bumpers are to be painted. I will update with 2009 pics soon. Hopefully along with video, too!

I have a history of some wild times, including a mishap riding a motorcycle WAY too fast! I had the broken bones and the scars to prove it! I allowed my motorcycle license to expire for Life. My Mustang Cobra is a daily driver and serves as all of my cars in one. When the weather is nice, the top is down and I Live to Ride. When I have the Need for Speed, I just put the hammer down! I love the sound of a V-twin Harley-Davidson, but I will make do with a V8 with HUGE cams.

Cruising around East Tennessee in the Fall with the top down is awesome!

138k miles have worn the edges off a few items, so I am doing a partial restoration which includes a new convertible top, painting the bumpers, Bullitt pedals, FR500 steering wheel, and Ford Racing floor mats. Spun a rod bearing, so the shortblock has been rebuilt.
The modification project was completed Summer '09 which includes big cams, long tube headers, full exhaust, computer tune, and bunches of other goodies. It is good enough for 400 horsepower at the flywheel naturally aspirated.

I need a sweet seat cover to join me on a Saturday night cruise, inquire within at Jamiehjr@aol.com!

138k miles and no longer counting! Shortblock rebuilt for the next century of miles.

Caution!: Driving over 145 mph with top down will cause baldness! \/ \/ \/ \/ \/

It is Fall time, looking forward to some droptop weather.
*
I installed a MGW shifter. WOW!! I LOVE my shifter! <3 <3 I no longer have to baby-step into third gear, I can BANG it like I mean it!! Rowing through the gears is a joy and a pleasure.
*
Dan's Just Jeeps and More rebuilt my differential and 4.88 gears, I want them to rebuild my brakes and install a Line Lock with Anderson Ford console switches.
*
Scott of Noe's Performance completed my Spring Modifications '09 on March 13.
*
4/10/09: Spun a rod bearing.
10/14/09: Back on the road, regretfully with a hanging idle.
*
The Heavy Hitters on my Mod List include 150hp Nitrous Oxide Systems kit, premium Forged internals, a T56 transmission, and if the budget allows, Big Bore Cammer block with stroker crankshaft as a foundation for a 5.3 liter 324 cubic inch short block.
*
With the expense of modifying a modular motor, these Big Mods may take a couple years.
*
But I have time, and I'm getting better lookin' every day! ;)
*
Update: I'm off my meds and I think I can shoehorn a Big Block in my Cobra! I want a snortin', ground poundin', belching aluminum block stroker 557 with EFI. Good for 700 horsepower on the street. I can even run a HUGE, WILD cam to produce 1000 horsepower. Now that my Spring '09 modular project is complete, I can set my sights on my big block powerhouse. Screw modular. Cubes Rule. Torque is King.
