About the 1974½ MGB
A "1974½" designation denotes an MGB built between September 1974 and December 1974. Although the 1974½ had the rubber bumpers and raised ride height like the 1975-1980 cars, 1974½s were different from their later counterparts. They were the last MGBs to be equipped with dual SU carburetors. All subsequent cars were built with a single Zenith-Stromberg carburetor, reducing power output considerably. In addition, 1974½ MGBs had less emissions equipment than the later cars. There are also a few other differences. 1974½s had a red and silver nose emblem, as opposed to the later cars, which had a black and silver emblem. Lastly, the 1975 and up cars were equipped with a brake booster. Total production for 1974½ Federal spec LHD roadsters (left-hand drive models destined for export to the U.S.) was 5,274.

That’s all I know so far. As I learn more information I’ll be sure to add it in here.
