185,000 miles on the odometer, and still pulling strong with no valve noise. Just got a AutoPage RS-1000 OLED 2 Way FM/FM O.L.E.D Remote Start security system! Planning to finish the install by May. I will create a DiY page with pictures, documentation, and reviews. I am looking forward to testing the 1.2 mile remote control. Pretty wild

Finally fixed my engine hesitation problem. It ended up being all my valve screws loose, and one screw almost all the way out! This was causing mis-fires at all RPM's. This type of engine (non sport/performance) will have the valve screws come loose at high RPM's. I admit I am the cause of this problem. Back in 2001-2003 I was often speeding at 100-110 MPH to work, traveling 45 miles one way. So when I was running late, I had to really make up for it. I'm not sure excessive valve damage was done, but right now with all screws tightened, it is purring quite nicely... at 182,000 miles no less!! I'm not afraid to challenge the rice burners out there. If I had my way, I'd drop a Mopar 2.4L turbo engine in it. But in reality, the money is best spent on a new car, likely to be a Subary for all-wheel-drive performance and safety. I'm considering an STi.
