I had a similar car many years ago, in the mid-70's, so when this one showed up FOR SALE in the local paper, I called, and that was that! It was in primer at the time, but had a new top, and the body wasn't TOO bad. It's a 350-2 barrel but runs like a clock, and starts first time every time.
This car is a "driver", but I it may get entered in some local car shows, if it doesn't get sold first! The color is "Saturn Yellow", same as for 1970 GSX models. The paint was done locally here in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
It's had an all-new Legendary interior installed (highly recommended - great fit, good-looking!), plus almost all new suspension parts, brakes and lines, steering wheel, and some minor box frame welding - it wasn't as bad as many of them seem to get!
I'm actually quite happy with how it has turned out. The brown interior (dash, carpeting, steering column) will all become black this fall (2006).
I had the rear bumper re-chromed at a local plating place in Halifax. Ouch, the price hurt, but the result was great!
It's hard not to keep taking pictures, as we have some great scenic spots around Nova Scotia.........
This car COULD be For Sale if someone is interested. Contact me if interested. Selling price would be in the range of $17,500 CDN.
This picture is an article and photo run by the local Halifax newspaper on "my ride"!!
This is in front of St. John's Anglican Church in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, dating back to 1753. It almost totally burned down a few years ago and was reconstructed beautifully.
OK, time to dress her up a bit! I found a place in North Carolina that will make up decal stripe kits, and ordered a set. I had a local body shop in Halifax paint the GS hood I bought in New York this spring, and they also drilled out the hole and installed the hood tach from OPG, as well as the rear spoiler. Then they hired an auto graphics outfit to apply the decals. Here are the results.
