kylezblueretta's 1991 Chevrolet Beretta

My car is a 1991 chevrolet beretta base model. There is 140,000 miles on the body and just about 105,000 miles on the motor. It's painted a dodge viper blue with metalflake. It would take too long to tell everything i've done and replaced on the car, but the main things consist of: 3.1 v6 motor out of a 95 montecarlo i believe. Lightweight underdrive pulley from fast fwd performance. Custom air intake setup using the lower section of a cold air intake hose for a crx, and an AEM dryflow synthetic filter. Full 2 1/2 inch exhaust pipe with a catco hight flow catalytic converter, and flowmaster 40 series muffler. Optima red top dry cell battery. New motor mounts all around.

I'm not sure about quarter mile time or speed but we have an 1/8 mile track about half an hour away. my best run is a 9.97 @70.98 mph with a 2.22 60ft time and 6.44 330ft time, my reaction time usually ranges from .08 to .26. This time was achieved with $35 a piece tires at 20 psi and 87 pump gas... which i think is pretty good. You can relate this time to my friends 2006 honda civic si. When it was bone stock he ran a 9.68 at 74mph with a 2.30 60ft time. So i guess the 3000lb beretta aint doin so bad.

For the longest time my cars top speed was right around 115 or 116mph, one day i did some tinkering with my wiring and now the wind resisted top speed is 142, i found this out because my friend was beside me on his 06 gsxr 750. If you wanna know how i did this just ask me in email at akh31387@verizon.net. ill let you know how i took off the governor for under $10. "ghettoriggin", that's how you get it done, you can fix anything with wd40 and duct tape... lol for stuff that should move... wd40, for stuff that shouldn't move... duct tape

Well the interior of the car is more for usefulness rather than looks. Many beretta owners know about the common windsheild seal leaks. Mine is also a victim to this as well. I ripped the stock carpet out, took a hammer and pounded a path for the water to run down to a small hole i punched out of my floorboard. and went to lowes and got 9ft by 8ft of black boat carpet... (turf) and shaped it on my floor... not the nicest looking thing in the world but its gets people's attention when i open my doors.
Also on the interior I fabricated the headliner, visors, and a shiftboot out of a blue (suede like) kind of material. with a chevy bowtie protruding from the headliner that i stitched around a foam backing.
I just installed my 3rd set of foglights because the first two got broken... :1st set rock damage on the interstate.:2nd set tree branch fell in the road and destroyed the lights. so i got a little smarter and mounted these behind the plastic grille between the headlights... also this set only cost me $12.

So i hooked up the sneaky peat nitrous kit i got for about $100 and i noticed some decent improvement. I got slightly better in the 1/8 mile, at a 9.91 at 72.5 mph, but traction was an issue. This week i plan to go to a colder set of spark plugs and get a bigger bottle for the nitrous. the kit came with a 9oz, it lasts for about 4 runs at most.. but it was worth the money so far.
