Whipple/V6 (intercooled intake)WIP
For the past two years I've been drawing up many design ideas for a performance intake system allowing the use of the Whipple AX140 supercharger (2300cc) on the V6 Mustang. Unlike the upper intake adapter I made for the M112/V6 project in 2005/06, this intake system will be a true performance setup and will allow this engine platform to exceed 400whp on pump gas 91-93oct, without the use of chemical intercooling.
Project Objectives:
1. Create an intake air system allowing the connection of the Whipple ax140 to the Essex V6 Ford engine. This system with the Whipple mounted on it must be no higher than the current M112 setup so as to fit under the stock GT style hood scoop.
2. Intake system must employ an efficient (greater than 65%) heat exchanging system to remove heat from incoming air charge by either a liquid/air and, or air/air method.
3. If liquid/air method is used, a system of checking for internal core leaks must be developed to aid in avoiding a hydrolock condition.
4. Retain system flow velocities within a +-10% range throughout.
