I bought my 145 in December 2005. I was looking for an estate because I needed the space and a cheap car for insurance and road tax( we pay none for a car older than 25 year’s in Holland). I had a 142 before so 145 was a logical choice.
My plans were to buy a car which runs well in the right color and than customize it a bit the way I like.
After I bought the car it seems
to be more rotten than I thought,
so before placing the LPG installation
I had to replace the beam around the patrol tank.

this is how the car looks around April 2006, still rusty on the outside but with a LPG installation.

Nowadays all the big rusty points on the body are replaced.
Still to come is some treatment of surface corrosion and than the body will be solid.
After that the tuning and customizing will begin.
I already did some tiny things like paint the grill, wheels and windows posts black, made the taillights red and removed the seam behind the rear bumper for a shaved look.
I’m planning to drop the car a few cm, make the stock rims wider. Maybe remove the bumpers and make it a little faster.
I recently placed a new head on the engine and renewed the timing gears. After that I tried to fit some SU's on it, but after a week of trying sweating and swearing I placed the stock carburetor on it again. The Su's seamed to be in pour condition and even when it worked it would be hard to tune them.

I'm now focussing on a Weber DGV set.
The 145's got a little sister, well actually an older an.
Sinds a month now I'm driving a nice black 2 doors 131.
