The Fire; the damage
Like every day this morning I woke up to go to work in my Elantra. After a 25 mile drive the car set up in fire; I could see the flames trough the hood vents. I felt so desperate when I saw that. Then I quickly pulled over to try and do something, look for the fire extinguiser in the trunk and it wasn't there...WTF, OMG! So I tried to turn off the fire with a small cloth and the windshield sun blocker; the fire was getting bigger...I felt helpless, I was loosing my car and there was nothing I could do (this ocurred in the middle of nowhere). All of the sudden I thought, "I'll close the hood to sofocate the fire and while closing the hood the upper radiator hose explodes and turned of the fire.
I was shocked the fire just went away. I got lucky that in the middle of nowhere a God sent Angel protected me and helped me out. Thats my only explanation; the fire was so intense that I have blisters on my hands because I was trying to turn off the fire with them.
I can't be more thankfull to him because I'm OK and the car wasn't destroyed.
The hood suffered intense damage, the two radiator fans were fried, the valve cover was damaged and some plugs near the fuel rail. Nothing that can't be fixed. The car still turn on.
What caused ther fire? The turbo main supply line exploded.
