First and foremost I would like to say thank you for visiting my website on Sounddomain.com. The pictures that follow are of my car audio system in my Pontiac Sunfire. Please keep in mind that I have not, nor will not, customize the exterior of my car... Not my thing... My generation was strictly car audio. However, I give props to the individuals that are putting effort in customizing exteriors with body kits, etc.

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireWhat the car use to look like before I got new rims for it... Picture was taken right by John Mellencamp's house at Lake Monroe in Bloomington, Indiana.

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire Picture of the neons at night... I'll get a better picture soon but I just wanted to play with my new digital camera...

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireWhat the car looks like after I got the new rims for it...

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireCloser view of the back trunk. I did all the work from top to bottom. I was tired of all the local stores screwing me over and not getting what I wanted... total construction only costed $130.00.. however it took me over 20 hours to complete. The amplifiers are all Rockford Fosgate. They consist of the following models...(2) Rockford Fosgate Power 250m amplifiers & (1) 200x2 Rockford Fosgate amplifier. You will notice that the middle amplifier's endcap says it is a 200ix, not a 200x2 but between you and I - it is a 200x2 (same model one year newer) all of the endcaps were interchangable so I kept the 200ix endcap because once upon a time I "thought" the 200ix version was a bit better... Now I'm VERY happy to display the 200x2 endcap.

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireBack view of the my car with the trunk open... Shows the two 12" subwoofers and the three amplifiers... (I did all the work myself)

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireThat is me competing against my friend Mike Berry... he didn't stand a chance.... Sorry Mike! LOL I received 162.9 DB in the local "Outlaw" DB competition.... Proof of documentation down below... My friend, Hector Rosado, watches me whip Mike's ass (he is the guy at the lower left side of the picture).

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireBEFORE AND AFTER: I asked myself one day... Is my setup up-to date? Nope... What could I do to improve the look of the setup? In this picture, I started with throwing out the grey carpet and reapply purple velvet. I then put velvet and a wood border in the speaker box... Although in this picture you really can't see it, I finally made a new face plate to accomidate a DVD player (Blauplunkt). Tell me what you think... As of 4/23/02 this is what it looks like.

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireBEFORE AND AFTER: Here is a better look at that DVD player, face-plate, and renovated speaker box... As of 4/23/02 this is what it looks like.

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire Here is the best photo of the DVD player... Did you know that three to four manufacturers put their name of this DVD player? Hmmm...

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireLeft side view of the trunk.... Contains 2, 1 farad capacitors, a Rockford Fosgate fuse block and a voltage meter.... The capacitors that you see in the pictures are no longer there... They have been replaced with 2 Rockford Fosgate "digital monitoring" capacitors.

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireBEFORE AND AFTER: What could I do with this side? Well my setup is completely Rockford Fosgate... Why did I have Phoenix Gold capacitors? So I put purple velvet on the side wing, bought two Rockford Fosgate monitoring caps just to spice it up a little. As of 4/23/02 this is what it looks like.

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireRight side view of the trunk.... Contains the Rockford Fosgate Symmetry.....

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireBEFORE AND AFTER: Right side view of the trunk.... Still contains the Rockford Fosgate Symmetry... I just put the purple velvet on it. Didn't actually believe anything needed to be done to this section. As of 4/23/02 this is what it looks like.

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireThis is the 200 amp Power Master alternator I had to buy in order to keep from killing my battery.... It is larger than the factory model and requires additional wiring... 4 guage used from the alternator to the battery and an additional 4 guage wire from the battery to the ground....

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireOne of the batteries that powers my system... It is the Optima Red Top (Interstate version). These are nice batteries!! They can handle a lot of abuse!!!!!!

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireThe Rockford Fosgate 5.25" Fanatic Q component set... In order to install this set you have to cut into the metal body of the car door.. Do not attempt to do it if you do not feel comfortable doing so... However, they are very LOUD!

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire Sorry for the mess... I didn't really believe that the dirt would show up in the picture... This is the crossovers that go to the speakers above... I couldn't put the left crossover under the driver seat because that seat has a crossbar that would literally break the crossover if I moved the seat... The passenger side does not have that bar... Go figure!

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireThe Rockford Fosgate 6.5" Fanatic Q component set... This is a rather easy project to do... But make sure you have confidence before you do something like this...

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire This is nothing new to my car but I just never got around to taking a picture of it. The Clarion 6.5" LCD is about six months old... It is on the passenger's side sun-visor... Very nice... I have two sources of video for this LCD... 1) my Blaupunkt DVD player and 2) JVC VCR... both units are in the car on a as-needed basis.

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire If you are a Pontiac Sunfire owner, you would agree that the OEM head-lights are something to be desired... They are not bright at all... Soooo.. I upgraded to these beauties.. I would say that they are about double the brightness as the OEM and they are still street legal. I have tried many types of lights and I will be staying with this type. You can get them are your local PepBoys automotive store... they are 30.00 a pair.

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire Never to late to do something that should have been done first... This is a picture of my roof on the Pontiac Sunfire without the cloth lining... Ever wonder why the car can be cooled by the A/C you your head could still be hot? I have found the problem and offer a salution...

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire The cloth lining is not made to get rid of heat... it just traps it. The GM company was so nice to put two strips (6" X 20") of tin covered material between the roof and the cloth to help prevent heat... Not good enough for me... I purchased a product called L-Mat. This product is exactly like Dynomat but less expensive. I love the stuff.. It keeps the temperature down, the noise out, and the DB'S higher and cleaner!! Just done 9/21/01

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac Sunfire Here is the proof that I registered what I said I did...You will see three numbers.... 1) Is a dash rating 138.3 2) Is the first outlaw competition... (I advanced to the next round so got to go through again.) 3) Is the final db... which I placed first in....

parrothead's 1996 Pontiac SunfireThe second contest I competed in... The outlaw came down a tad but the dash-board rating went up......
