-In May of 2006 I purchased the car for 100 dollars with a blown head gasket, a loud turbo with shaft play, a ratty top, and a really shitty paint job.
At first this project was going to be a stock car, other than a stage 2 ecm, a 3" exaust, and a cold air intake. But I got into it and this is the result:
Mod List:
First of all i didnt turbo a lebaron, It came that way. I modded a turbo lebaron. Creating the ultimate sleeper.
- Converted to inter cooled T2 setup
- Garret rebuilt turbo from Turbos Unleashed, converted to 1987 turbo 2 spec.
- newly rebuilt short block from Vermont Engine Service
- swapped to A568 manual trans axle
- G valve boost controller
-T2 injectors
- 3" turbo back exhaust.
- 3" magnaflow straight through muffler.
- 52mm throttle body.
- Ported intake manifold to match 52mm throttle body, from the stock 46 mm throttle body.
- Stage 3 Mopar Performance slider camshaft with followers.
- planed head reground valves and seats
- New starter
- Autometer boost gauge
- “Dawes device” air fuel meter.
- 27-12" inch 2.5” thick front mount intercooler.
- 2.5" mandrel bent aluminum pipes, 4 ply couplers with T clamps.
-Turbo XS RFL blow off valve (loudest one on the market).
- Battery relocated to trunk.
- 5 bolt hub conversion from the original 4 bolt.
- New premium brake rotors, posi quiet pads, rebuilt calipers, and new ball joints.
- Poly front motor mount
- 1990+ rear transmission mount and bracket
- New belts as well as all other misc. tune up parts
SUSPENSION MODS:
- 225/50/16 Falken ZEIN ZE912's.
- 1” Eibach drop springs.
- New KYB Shelby Z struts.
- New KYB upper strut mounts and all other hardware needed to do the 87 susp. swap.
- KYB heavy duty gas shocks.
- New tie rod ends.
EXTERIOR:
- Lexus light grey metallic paint
- Silver 16" by 6.5" Shelby pumper wheels and 225/50/16 tires
- Removed fender trim (makes it look cleaner)
- Removed plastic bumper stops (makes it look cleaner)
- New white convertible top
