its not anything special yet, i got it in ok condition. i had to tear out the aftermarket alarm system that a few rednecks (the woman's name who sold it to me was bobbie-jo for christs sake). i then replace the windshield, exhaust, driver side interior handle which was snapped off, passenger side exterior handle whose rod was bent, got power to the radio via the cigarette lighter (there were so many splices i think that a professional electrician would have cringed...), i ripped out the dashboard to fix the lights which wouldnt come on (i had to rewire it), i had to fix BOTH power windows that failed on me when i got it- the clips in the harness arent made anymore so i put them next to a soddering iron to loosen up ther metal enough that i could remove the old wire remains and re-insert new wire; i got rid of the shit ass amp which wasnt even installed properly, fixed the seat so i could adjust the back and forth motion (the wire snapped so i jury-rigged it with a clothes hanger) so i could fit my 6 foot 3 inch ass in the seat. it it werent for the fact it was a t-top, i dont think id be able to sit up straight. then i took it in for inspection... (the fun begins here by the way)

it turns out that the passenger side door doesnt WANT to be fixed and the rod comes loose again, all 4 door pins needed to be replaced, i needed 2 new head gaskets, there was too much play in the steering wheel, the drums needed to be replaced, i needed all 4 ball joints in the suspension (OUCH...) and new weatherstripping. this is from the first inspection...

inspection number 2... before i actually sent it in, i gave it to a place to fix a few last minute things i didnt want to do myself... namely the door pins and a new driver side door hinge which i didnt have a spring compressor for. this is around two hours worth of work for people who have the tools... these sons of bitches had my car for a *excuse the language* fucking week and did nothing but have it inspected- something that should be done AFTER the repairs. i took it out of the shop, paid the 66 bucks for inspection, and found some more good news- i needed a brake line repar and i was leaking transmission fluid. on the verge of a mental breakdown and contemplating suicide, i begin to wonder why my god damn parents wouldnt let me have a 1993 integra whose only problem was cracked LEATHER and fading paint on the roof around the sunroof... wtf? right? i coulda bought it for $2000, i bought the monte for $2500, and had already dropped 3 more grand into it. this is where my dad helps me out... he says if the traanny problem is bad enough, hed help pay for it. by the way, it was my second car, i had a 93 corsica that was an absolute POS that i got for free from my great aunt who didnt even drive. i had paid for the monte in full, and i am paying my parents back for all the money i borrowed to get the monte running, all myself, why couldnt i have normal parents that would throw in at least a grand or two to help me on my little endeavor. also, it was my dad that approved of this monte too, so its his motherfucking fault, not mine, despite the fact that i have always wanted one.

ANYWAY... good news, its just the gasket on the transmission pan thank god, and the break line was an easy fix... then we told this other place to just make the goddamn thing pass inspection- install the door pins and hinge, passebger side door and all... $2000 and TWO days later i get a call "mr. ohara, your car is ready" thank the fucking lord!!! i have a car that isnt a piece of shit corsica! i drove that bisch practically the rest of the day, and what a day it was!

the car was stripped of its badging and striping from its previous paint job, so i got three SS monte carlo badges to put on the doors and trunk. then i got a $200 alpine head unit that my mom was soooo pissed about me getting, she wouldnt let me get the damn thing installed despite the fact that i had already paid for the installation fees when i bought the head unit... that bitch... now se and my dad get to drive all the way up to best buy themselves the bastards...

plans:
1- red rally stripes
2- new sound system- speakers and at least a 10 in. woofer
3- air bag suspension
4- american racing polished mags. 15x6 in front, 17x8 in the back, keep the originals
5- repaint- a little brighter than burnt orange metallic with either black or pearl colored rally stripes depending on the color interior i want
6- interior- custom, no stock door panels for me, change the color if it, but keep the original dash and steering wheel in tact. backlights in the dash
7- smoked headlights and covnert to LEDs
8- neons maybe... dont want to make it too tacky
9- drop in a 350 ci engine, and tune it to about 400 or so hp...
10- rip out catalytin converter, re route exhause to exit before rear tires
11- maybe a body kit... i dunno yet...
12- install hinged shelf in trunk for t-top storage
13- ill probably think of more later, its 1:30 in the morning as i type this... so im a little tired at the moment...
