You've never seen a Delorean like this one before. For starters, it's the world's first Delorean WIDE-BODY. That's right. It's a whopping 8 inches wider than stock in the rear! With all that extra width, I was able to cram 18"x10" wide rear wheels in there.
The 18" rears are complimented by 17" up front and the open design of the wheels puts the 13" vented two-piece rotors and four-piston calipers in your face. The original 4-square-headlight front fascia was dated so it got pitched in favor of a hand-formed fascia with modern projector-beam headlights and a carbon/kevlar grille. Out back, the area between the tail-lights was opened up and replaced with a mesh screen (a'la Ferarri) and an air diffuser with carbon fiber strakes completed the rear-view.
The original engine was a 2.8 liter boat anchor with mechanical fuel injection. I've opted for a later version of the same engine breed, displacing 3.0 liters with higher compression and using modern mechanical fuel injection, controlled by a programmable Electromotive TEC3 unit.
The interior of the D was, well, 1981. Trashed it! Now, the interior sports a full custom formed dash, housing Autometer Carbon Fiber gauges, and a 7" touch screen monitor. The monitor is connected to a Dell Laptop that handles all A/V chores, pushing sound through two 4-channel amps and delivering full surrond sound through 6 speakers plus a sub mounted behind the Corbeau driver's seat. The console is also custom fabricated and presents the Momo Shift knob and boot for your shifting pleasure. Lift the console armrest and you'll find a storage compartment, complete with an integrated 3-port USB hub.
I'm new to CarDomain so I'll be putting this site together in the near future. Please bear with me!!!
