Well, I just recently purchased my V Dub from a older lady who never drove it and
let it sit in her husbands garage w/ the top down. It was filthy to say the least.
The paint was heavly oxidized so my first step to was use rubbing compound and
two coats of wax to bring the paint back to its factory state.

So as of now I am in the process of cleaning it meticulously until there is nothing
left to clean. After that I will start replacing things that are broken or not up to
par, like the speakers. The lady I bought it froms, supposedly, daughter left it out
in the rain w/ the top down so the speakers are all screwed up so those will be
fixed and there are plenty of other things that could be replaced, or fixed.

Other than a few minor things the VW is in amazing condition. Mechanically,
perfect, I mean it only has 45,000 miles on it and thats amazing it being a 1990
The rubbing compound took all of the scratches out that we not down to the paint
and the top is complety brand new considering she left it down its whole life.
