This page is the wheel page.

Here I want to concentrate on the performance improvements to be implemented in the wheel department.

The rear wheel will be widened from the stock size of 2.50 in to the amazing size of 5.0 in. it has been done and it looks awesome!
Here a few pictures, look at the stock rear wheel width next to the new wider tire 180/55/18 ( stock size 120/90/18 ) and the same tire and the 5.0 in wheel!!! Awesome !!! jaimesix's 1982 Honda CRX jaimesix's 1982 Honda CRX
In the front, a 120/70/19 tire will fit the front wheel. jaimesix's 1982 Honda CRX See both new tires ( new sizes.) Nice.

I would like this set up. Although I understand that there are more recent bike wheels out there to swap, most are smaller diameter ( 17's..) but I personally do not like the look of a CBF bike of the 80's with 17 in wheels. The front looks fine, but the rear looks ugly, and the remedy is worse than the disease, because in order to offset the lower stance with the new 17 wheels, the suspension has to be raised. Something like using 13 in wheels on a camaro, and on top of that, raising the suspension.....not for me!

The 19 in front wheel feels and looks good. All it needs to become is wider. Same for the rear wheel, which is 18, instead of the stock width of 2.50, a 5.0 ( twice as wide ) makes the trick.

For those that do not like Comstar wheels ( stock Honda CB DOHC wheels ) ... too bad, I think we live in different planets and we better part out in peace :)

Here an excellent article that appeared at a major motorcycle magazine. Check it out, fo all those who are not yet convinced!!!

Accel coils work great. Like in a car, good coils add power through better hotter spark. I heard Dyna coils are good too. It is a great mod on a bike, the power and swiftness gains are well worth the effort, simple, yet very efficient. Jaime.______________________________________________________
