************************************************************************************************************************ ENGINE: JLT REDFIRE METALLIC TRUE COLD AIR INTAKE ************************************************************************************************************************
The JLT system is larger then the stock system. It's without all the nooks, cranies and hard angles. This allows the air to flow much easier through this systemand with less turbulance. The filter sits low enough that is is able to draw in cooler air than stock as well.
Before~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After ************************************************************************************************************************
Install pics coming in stages....
Here is the stock air intake The canister that holds the air filter and how it breathes from the air in the fender...
Now we need to remove the old system...
That means removing this 8mm bolt at the top of the air filter canister where it bolts to the fender. It will give you a bit more wiggle room to remove the filter. Unclamp the air filter holder. You open the clamp fully and pull it up out of the way then pull the canister down to reveal the filter... Then bend the air tube neck out of the way watching the wires for your mass air sensor at the neck. Then you can pull the old filter out and take one last look... Now if you were just doing a stock filter replacement, you could load it up and reverse the process. But we are replacing the whole system. Now it's time to pull the canister out of the fender. Now the intake has these rubber feet that go down into the bottom of the engine bay, so it might be work to get the canister out. Here is the hole in the fender.
Now back to the intake tube... To remove it from the car you need to disconnect the MAFS. Next you can disconnect the two air tubes close to the intake manifold... Now the place where the tube connects to the intake manifold. It's a clamp you have to loosen up and then it will just slip off. Now you just firmly grasp the hose & wiggle it back and forth until it slips off. The car looks bare without it...
Now with the stock unit out of the car we removed the MAFS since it is used with the new unit. Now the part that was the top of the air canister will be removed. It has screws attaching it to the MAFS... With this piece off, we focused on revoing the screen for better air flow. Now time to bolt on the new JLT billet coupler for the MAFS Now using the supplied rubber coupler and hose clamps, the 2 JLT pieces slip together like so. The top has the 2 plastic inlets for your stock air lines removed earlier. The bottom faces the other way so it can go into the fender like the stock unit. Next comes the plate that will slip over the bottom portion of the air tube and actually seal up the fender from the hot engine bay.
Now on the end of the bottom portion there is a rubber elbow that will be slipped into the hole in the fender well. Here from under the car, you can see the rubber elbow. Then the MAFS is attached b/w the rubber elbow and K&N filter You can see its a much less restrictive K&N cone filter.
Once you get things situated on the lower end, it's back up top. It's as simple as attaching the top end with the included rubber coupler and hose clamps & slipping on the 2 air hoses. The tolerances are just so and fit perfect...

thats a BAD mustang!! i like the "new leader" pic at the top of ur page. GM doesn't make a good looking muscle car. the mustang has always been the measuring stick in looks. 5 stars
