1968 Cougar "Hotrod" - I've owned this for almost two years now, but have only recently had the time in the past few months to get her ready for the local shows. I've got over ten grand invested in this project so far, as well as hundreds of hours fine tuning whatever I can get my hands on

I am selling the car for a very firm $8995!! A vehicle like this should really be fetching well over ten grand! This is a steal considering that the NADA Guide for this vehicle is somewhere between a low $12,700 in O.K. shape to almost $34,000 for a vehicle "great" shape! This car is definitely closer to the latter. I may also consider a 2000 or newer 4X4 SUV. If you're interested email me at phil_hallberg@hotmail.com.

Engine specs: It's got a high-performance 302 V-8 putting out over 300HP. I put on a new 4 Barrel Edelbrock 600CFM carb. It's got Hooker headers attached to Thrush Cherry Bombs and all new stainless steel dual pipes to the back. Performance CAM. Holley Intake Manifold. New 1.6 COMP CAMS Roller Rockers. Just about all of the engine components are new: Alternator, Fuel Pump, Water Pump, 850 amp Battery, all the belts, hoses, vacuum lines, wires, plugs, also installed a new "Pertronix" Flame Thrower coil. Recently installed a new three-row radiator to keep her cool, along with a new fan shroud. Just installed some new KYB shocks on the front and rear. Brand new street performance harmonic damper. Also installed a fuel pressure guage on the carb for effect.

Heavy Duty C-6 Transmission that shifts like it was new, and a heavy duty 9" Ford rear end. Got some new yellow traction bars for that aggressive look.

Interior / Exterior: Got rid of the factory color green and went with a custom Black Cherry Metallic, looks nice for a $1000 bucks, but not a "show" quality job. Had the original seats re-upholstered with black vinyl. Installed factory retro black carpet. Added some new sun visors, kick panels, and door sill plates. Also fabricated a nice rear deck wrapping the Pioneer 6X9 Speakers in black carpet. I installed a nice Pioneer CD Player with remote. The dashboard is almost perfect, no cracks or warping. Also installed a brand new B&M Megashifter. Installed new Summit guages where the old radio mounted, and a SunPro Tach above the steering column.

Rims and Tires: Polished Aluminum Cragar Super Sports, 7's up front and 8's in the rear. BF Goodrich 215/65/15 up front and fat 245/60/15's in the rear.

Future Upgrades: chrome rocker panels, and chrome wheel well trim. Chrome tips for the dual exhaust. I was also thinking about throwing on a Edelbrock Air-Gap Manifold .. which would fit very nicely under the new "Functional" 429 BOSS Hood Scoop! a 428CJ Engine & 4spd jk

The Bad: Only because I am running out of time ... Needs new headliner ($50 bucks at MustangsUnlimited). The driver's door panel has a small patch missing (pic shown). There is crack / ding in the driver's side wheel well that I hid with touchup (pic shown). There is a scratch about 4" x 1" on the driver bumper (pic shown). The emergency brake is not connected. I have the power steering pump and all hardware, just haven't had the time to install it. Rear bumper needs adjustment. Hood needs adjustment. Moulding around the front and back windshields are not installed because I wanted brand new, I still have the old stuff though.
