GrayZ28’s 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

So here it is. The first year Chevy introduced the "Trailblazer". If you bought a regular Blazer you had the option to upgrade to the Trailblazer package. This gave you the fancy leather interior with floor shifter and the embroidery on the headrests and door panels. It also came with the Z85 Touring suspension. Makes for a decently smooth ride in town or on the highway. You could then check off boxes for other goodies. As far as I can tell my ride has all available options. 4x4, sunroof, skidplates, power seat with lumbar and heater and auto dimming and heat on the mirrors. But enough talk, lets see the pics!!

So you got the usual drivetrain from the S-Series Blazer, the 4.3L Vortech V-6. It pumped out 190hp and 250lb/ft of torque bone stock which is the way i got it. It had just over 86,000 miles on it when i picked it up. As you can see from the above pic this thing does see off-road duty. This leather clad 4x4 isn't going to be a yuppie-mobile that never flexes its off-road muscle. However small those muscles may be. Here is a pick from our last trip to San Diego. Decided to pull a trailer and the Blazer performed great. Fuel ecenomy sucked with the trailer but the trip rocked.

This page will document the aftermarket goodies that go on it. I'm not looking to do anything really crazy with it, just make it a bit more efficient. Well, we got caught in a big winter storm that dumped up to 2 feet of snow in some places. We had 11 inches where we were staying. Of course i found the snowy conditions a great time to test out the tires and give the 4 wheel drive system a workout. My brother-in-law suggested we go out to a place called 9 mile hill. Here we ran the Blazer up and down the large snow covered hill. The last pic is from the driveway. The snow was so deep that the skid plates drug on the top. This thing performed great even when the streets turned to ice and i never had to put it in 4 low.
