This is my old truck. 1994 Ranger Supercab 4x4. 4.0L V6 automatic transmission. It was built into what you see below and competed locally in the Richmond Virginia area for a short period before being sold in December 2001. It was replaced by a 1997 Explorer at that point which can be found HERE
The text & images below are old and were part of the page for my other truck at one time, but I have decided to finally give the ranger its own page.
Here is a picture of the truck after getting it out of the body shop... still have to put on air damm and foglights....
Hey all, this is my 94 Ford "Rescue" Ranger Supercab 4x4. I base this truck around the Sound System which I built for SQ+, which is a combo of Sound Quality and SPL. Photo's coming soon.
My goals in this install are very simple. To Build an IASCA quality sound system, using very nice equipment. For the Enclosure, build a clean install, flushing out the Amps, EQ, and woofers, while keeping seat travel optimal for me (i'm 6'1").
Equipment Used:Deck: Eclipse 55040 + VA9002 (Ecom)EQ: Phoenix Gold eq215x + LPLFront Stage Amp: Kicker ZR240Front Stage: Boston Acoustics Pro 6.53Front Stage other: Qlogic KicksSub Amp: Kicker DX700 + SWX + RGXSubwoofers: (2) Eclipse 88100.4 Alum. Finally got my Kick Panels in. The kicks house the Neo 5t Tweeter and 4.5MR Midrange from the Boston Acoustics Pro Series 6.53 set. The door holds the 6.5LF Midbass Driver. Sound Deadening for the door and kick are coming soon. A Kicker ZR240 powers these. I figure each side gets about 135 watts. ZR240 does about 90wRMS-IRL, and since Boston Components are 3ohm, it bumps the wattage even more. With 8v output on my deck, the gains on the amp are REAL low.
I occassionally like to go off-road in my truck. You can see the bumper off alignment where I hit a deer. Why the hell are all my pictures coming up fuzzy ?
Yes ! I finally got my enclosure finished. Ok, well, i still need to vac my carpet, put in the plexi and blacklight, but other than that, its done. The Eclipse 88's are flushed in with my PG EQ215x in the middle. the blacklight will shine down onto my EQ, and the plexi I had cut will cover it up. Inside the enclosure are my wiring accessories, cap for my DX700, and my ProSeries 6.53 crossovers. My LPL44 remote subwoofer knob is mounted up front on my accessory switch panel, however, i may move it into the ashtray.
Heres a link to my 97 Explorer (also retired)... Check it out HERE
