This is my 1999 Z28 which I purchased July 8th 2003. This is the first morning I drove it to work, had to get a few shots in the gentle morning sun.
I paid $15,000 for it, with just under 47k miles. It came equiped pretty much stock, with the exception of a Flowmaster muffler. This really doesn't make any performace gain, unless you consider noise to be performance? But it sure sounds sweet and looks stock due to retaining stock tips.
Here is a better shot of the car, this is after I spent a Sunday afternoon washing and waxing it. A good w/w takes a lot of time and effort, but in the end there is so much reward for a job well done. This particular picture really came out well, with the lovely Gulf of Mexico shining in the background off the Florida Keys. I can't wait to get my new set of Y2K thin spokes on her, and better yet the lowering springs...absolutly BADASS!

This shot shows the mild profile of the factory spoiler that is mounted on top of the standard camaro hatch. I've always liked the way low spoilers accented the rear of the car, and having this from the factory is even better. It compliments the look of the factory ground FX, which give the illusion of being lowered.
This is just a closer shot of the front wheels. Soon I'll be painting and installing "camaro" decals on each brake caliper to make the calipers really stand out behind the chrome 5 spokes. Eventually I plan to buy a new set of rims, either chrome Z06 or chrome Y2K corvette thin spokes. I'm not sure if i want to have 17x9.5" all around or those in the front and 18x10.5" out back...decisions!
Here is a shot of the interior. The only thing that I'm not happy about with this car is the leather. At first I didn't like the idea of the tan either, but after getting use to it, and the fact that the dash, console and some of the door panels are black...it's starting to grow on me. I'm already planning to have the seats re-upholstered in tan cloth.
Here's a closer shot of the new shifter I installed. Actually I installed this an hour after picking the car up. This was the shifter i installed in my 96Z which came out of a 96 SS making it a SLP shifter, onto that I installed a Lou's Short Stick, which makes a very short, very solid, yet inexpensive shifter. After driving with that shifter for over a year on my 96, when I drove this car home, I couldn't stand the feel and length of the stock shifter. But once the new shifter went in, it made the car feel completely different...and more familiar. You can also see the MBA billet shift knob, with Z28 engraved in it.
And of course I've got to throw in a quick shot of the engine bay. Which houses the basically stock, 5.7l LS1 motor making a factory rated (or should I say under-rated) 305 hp and 345 lb-ft of torque. You can see the BMR strut tower brace that I installed to tighten up the front of the car...again a part that came from my 96Z. You can also see the huge mass of factory crap that GM builds into their intake/air filter lid. I have since upgraded the intake, as outlined on Page 2.
Here is a close up of one of the paint blemishes. The clear coat is begining to peel around the molding on the passenger door. It's not very big..yet...and I plan to take it to a detailer or paint shop to see what can be done. I'm thinking a wet sand and then a new layer of clearcoat to prevent it from peeling any more. Any suggestions?
This is the reason I hate leather in Florida. The sun heats the hell out of it for one, burning your freaking back and but...and it cracks and wears out too fast. This car is 4 year old and it already looks like crap.
Here is the car during a nice wash/wax/detail after my header install. I kindda did it as a treat to the car for being such a good 'patient' for the operation
Doesn't she look beatiful in the shade under the palm trees?
