Recent work and up coming projects with the car

satty12's 1995 Saturn SL-SeriesSo in the summer of 08 I got a hose leak right as i ordered these now OBX hoses what luck

satty12's 1995 Saturn SL-Series

They are made of silicone rubber not the regular old autozone hoses that everyone gets for replacement parts so they will last longer and look much better matching the valvecover and intake filter. OBX racing has an online store and an ebay store i suggest going to the ebay store instead since these hoses were only 30 dollars on the ebay store and 50 at there online store.

satty12's 1995 Saturn SL-SeriesNow for the wheel bearing my car barely past mass state inspection so it was time to replace the front wheel bearing and the clutch is starting to slip so i oredered a new ZOOM compact sport stage 1 clutch from JEGS what a great price for the clutch on that site I would use them again for most of my parts needs now, when i finaly get the clutch in i will post pics and of all the work thats going to be done and since i will be under the car i will also get pics of the catback exhaust system also.

So i guess christmas does come early the clutch kit was back ordered 9-16 days this was on july 24 then i come home from work a week later its now july 30 and there it is satty12's 1995 Saturn SL-Seriessatty12's 1995 Saturn SL-Series

now all i have to do is find the time to replace my clutch and wheel bearing ya cant wait to start ripping things apart and working on my car again the wedding i just had happend at the perfect time car needs repair I get money for wedding presents.

So its august 8th 09 and while im waiting for my friend to be available to help with the wheel bearing and clutch installs i decided to take care of a few minor body issues with the car and its one all saturn owners deal with. The rear windows and started to show signs of rust around the metal trim pieces and well before it turned into a big problem i brought out the sandpaper tape and primer and of course bondo since once i got sanding the problems became very clear.satty12's 1995 Saturn SL-Seriessatty12's 1995 Saturn SL-Seriessatty12's 1995 Saturn SL-Seriessatty12's 1995 Saturn SL-Seriessatty12's 1995 Saturn SL-SeriesIn the first pic you can see where i finnished priming the drivers side of the car and the fourth and fifth pictures show where i had to break out the bondo and every saturn owner knows of these trouble spots. I will be laying down the paint and it will be a black metalic pearl and then clear coated what a great little weekend project. The paint I am using is duplicolor metal effects which has the metalic flake in it and duplicolor clear coat.

satty12's 1995 Saturn SL-SeriesThey paint is still drying and the sun isnt hitting it at the right angle but damn what a differnce.

satty12's 1995 Saturn SL-SeriesLook at that a mirror finnish.

satty12's 1995 Saturn SL-SeriesThis shot is with the flash off i still need to hit it with some 1000 grit paper to smooth it out more and give it the appearence of glass and wash my filthy car and give it a wax but that will have to wait until August 24 when my vacation starts and i can get my wheel bearing and such work done.

So there will not be picks of the clutch install since it turns out I dont need a new clutch just had to clean up alot of dust that was getting packed into the friction surface so I now have a spare clutch when I do need to upgrade and by that i mean JEGS sent me the wrong clutch i ordered and payed for a stage 1 like i have in the car now but since the stage 1 ZOOM was backordered they sent me a stage 2 how nice of them until then i give you all this to feast your eyes on

satty12's 1995 Saturn SL-SeriesJust ordered as I was typing this last paragraph from above OBX racing stainless 4-2-1 exhaust header downpipe and resonator on ebay for 178 cant beat that at all.

That sucks about the damage man. Yea, that fiberglass isn't ment to take a rapid beating. But I love the motor mods, way more then mine, which I plan to do more once i get all the body work done. Thanks too for the SOTW nomination. 5 star rating for the motor alone.
