I AM STILL WAITING ON THE 40MM FLARE REAR QUARTER PANEL SEEMS TO BE TAKING FOREVER. BUT HERE IS A PICTURE OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE AND WHEN I GET THE PANEL I WILL THEN BE ABLE TO FINISH THE BODY OF THE CAR.
FIRST OF ALL THIS IS HOW MY 86 LOOKED LIKE BEFORE IT WENT TO OUR SHOP. IT IS STILL PRESENTLY IN THE SHOP AND IS UNDERGOING HUGE FABRICATION IN OUR SHOP. AND WHEN THE CAR IS FINISHED IT WILL BE PAINTED PROBABLY PEARL WHITE, WITH PEARL BLUE IN THE CLEAR COAT. NOT SURE YET STILL HAVE SOME TIME TO THINK ABOUT THE COLOR SO IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA'S HIT ME UP.
THIS IS MY 1985 TOYOTA AE86. MY STEPMOTHER WAS THE FIRST OWNER OF THIS CAR. IT WAS GREY WITH A LITTLE BIT OF RUST BUT THIS CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN IN THE SNOW FOR MANY YEARS. SO WHEN I WAS 15 I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM MY PARENTS AND STARTED TO RESTORE THE CAR WITH MY FATHERS HELP. A YEAR AFTER I GOT THE CAR THE BODY WORK WAS COMPLETED AND I DECIDED TO PAINT THE CAR CORVETTE YELLOW WITH TWO BLACK STRIPES. ONCE I GOT THE FRONT AIR DAM AND MADE THE CUSTOM SIDE SKIRTS AND REAR BUMBER I PRIMERED THE KIT BLACK, BUT DIDN'T PLAN ON LEAVING IT BLACK WAS GOING TO PAINT IT YELLOW. BUT DECIDED TO KEEP IT THAT WAY TILL I WAS OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL AND WAS GOING TO PUT THE CAR BACK INTO THE SHOP FOR SERIOUS CUSTOM WORK.
WHEN I DID THIS CAR THE TUNER SCENE WASN'T BIG IN THE US. AS WELL AS THIS CAR. THERE WAS VERY FEW THAT EVEN NEW WHAT THIS CAR WAS AND THE POTENTIAL THAT IT HAD. THE REASON THAT I DID KNOW WHAT THIS CAR WAS AND THE POTENTIAL FOR DRIFTING WAS THANKS TO PAUL AT TURBO FOUR. HE WAS THE OWNER OF A VERY SMALL TUNER STORE IN CLEVELAND OHIO. WHERE HE NEW EVERY THING ABOUT THE 86 AND OWNED TWO HIMSELF. HE HELP ME IN EVERY WAY IN GETTING PARTS FROM JAPAN. HE CAME FROM JAPAN AND OPEN THIS STORE IN LIKE A ASAIN CULTURE COMPLEX. BUT SADLY HE WENT BACK TO JAPAN BECAUSE HIS FATHER DIED IN JAPAN AND HE FELT HE HAD TO HELP HIS FAMILY. GOOD LUCK WITH EVERY THING PAUL.
MOST OF THE PARTS STILL DO COME FROM JAPAN BUT I CAN FIND ALOT MORE STUFF FOR IT IN THE UNITED STATES NOW THANK TO THE DRIFT SCENE IN THE STATES. AND YES I DID DRIFT IN THIS CAR AS WELL AS SOLO RACING, AND ROAD TRACK RACING. THIS WAS A AWSOME CAR ON THE TRACK.
THERE IS ALOT OF LITTLE THINGS THAT I AM GOING TO DO LIKE CHOP TOP THE ROOF 3 INCHES, COMPLETE ROL CAGE, CUSTOM MADE WIDE BODY, TUBING THE REAR WHEEL WELL, AND SUICIDE DOORS, ORIGIN STYLISH BODY KIT, VENTED STYLE CARBON FIBER HOOD, THOSE ARE THE BIG MODIFICATION BUT THERE WILL BE MANY OTHER LITTLE THINGS. AND FINALLY THE HEART OF THIS BEAST WILL BE A 4AGE 20 VALVE WITH A T4 TURBO TUNED FOR 275HP, THIS IS A CRATE ENGINE THAT IS ABOUT $10,000. I WILL KEEP THIS PAGE UPDATED ON THE PROGRESS OF THE PROJECT.
