I got my probe from an auto auction for $150. The last owner wrapped it around a telephone poll and I rebuild the front end. At first it was white... I dont like white so I went for black.

After the painting was done I added a wing in the back. I know its a stock one but I like the look. Especially when compared to some of the whale tails that some people sport around here. All that rear wheel grip added to a front wheel drive car... odd.

Then I added some blue neons, and wheel well lights! The cops don't really like it but it is ok as long as they don't see me... yeah right. -.-

Looked pretty good untill an old man made a left in front of me and I smasked into the side of him. I felt better when I saw that he spun into the curb and broke off his back tire from the axle.

So I scrapped all the dammaged parts and headed to pull-a-part for a new front end.

After a while I started wondering what it would look like as a convertible. I researched the Internet for days and only found about three other probe convertibles. Two where second generation models and the third was a photo shop.
I decided to take the challenge of converting my probe into a convertible. First I needed to rid it of the rear hatch and back windows. The hatch was easy. There were only four bolts and a wire harness. The back windows on the other hand were glued in so I had to break those out. That made a big ass mess!

After all the cutting i took a break and covered the doors a cool cloth I found. YAY Spray adhesive!!

So far its comming along pretty good.

Next I need subframe conecters, a roll cage, and a top from something and I'll be set! oh... and fix that headlight XP
I got the hatch cut and refitted back on the back!!! The window for that was glued into place as well so again I had to cover my garage in glass. At least now its not a big hole.

Ok, went to pull-a-part and stumbled on a labaron. Poor thing had no clue what I was planning, hehe. After about 50 or so bolts I finely got the top of it off. To heavy carry so I had to wheel it back to the front. I also discovered that it was hydraulic. That was something I wasnt expecting so later I haft to go back for the pump and lines.

When I got it home the first thing was to strip it of the crappy cover it had, and then I was ready to start getting it set so I could see about where it needed to go. For that I had to lift it over the car and lower it into place. Thanks to some bike hooks, some rope, and my truck in reverse I hoisted into the air and slipped into place. The cool thing is there was a hole predrilled on either side that was about an inch away from where I needed it! So aligning it easy.

Now I have it bolted in, and I had to clear away a place for the top to sink into when it was down. After a lot of chopping I got it to lower but in the end of it all the top came to rest on top if the supports for the rear suspension and I cant really cut those out of the way so now I need to modify the tops lifting arms to make them go around those instead of on.
