tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford Mustang

tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangAnother picture of the motor. I KNOW ITS BLURRY. SORRY. The header I know you cant see it that well is a step header design it goes from 1 5/8 to 1 3/4 primary tubes with three inch collector. Motor idles at 1400rpms and lopes radicly. With 3 inch exhaust and flow master you would never guess it was a 4cly. Ive tryed to get guys to bet me money before I popped the hood and they wouldnt. See the valve cover I polished it myself. It came off a 87 thunderbird turbo coupe. It used to be black but I stripped the paint off and polished it.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangPicture of the carb. with the billet metering block and bowl extention. I milled the choke myself. I also installed slabbed throttle shaft for more air flow.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangMy battery is installed in the trunk for better weight transfer. I had to put it on the drivers side because I still have the stock gas tank. If it wasent for that reason I would put it on the other side, thats the best spot to put them for traction.

tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangA picture of my rearend with the girdle and you can see the 3 inch exhaust with the flow master. The sway bar came off a 95 cobra R. Its huge compared to my old stock one.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangFord motorsport aluminum driveshaft. I also have a driveshaft safty loop made for this driveshaft that I havent installed yet.

tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangMSD 6AL. That means with rev limiter. Usualy set at 8500rpms. Simple easy to use and most of all dependable. I have a two step to add on this that way I can switch between two differnt rev limits.tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford Mustang

tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangAluminum under drive pulleys. The cam gear, crank pulley, aux. pulley, water pump pulley, and the billet timing belt tentioner are from esslinger enginering in californa. The cam pulley is adjustable. The crank pulley is 4 inches, water pump is 7 inches in diamiter to them down. Altinator pulley is custom made by a buddy of mine it is also aluminum and is 4 inches in diamiter. You cant really see the auxillary cam pulley but it is also made of light weight aluminum. I dont run power stearing with this car because it robs horespower and with a 4cly. and the skinny tires its not hard to stear.

tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangThis is the pulley im running now. Notice the laser etched timing marks. They marked down all 360deg on the face, and they make an aftermarket pointer for this, witch I have. If you look close to the pic above you can see it. It on the left of the pulley.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangThis is the one I just bought. Its been cut down to make it lighter. This one is from www.cheaphp.com. EVERY OUNCE COUNTS.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangLight weight aluminum aux. shaft pulley from esslinger.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford Mustang7 inch aluminum water pump pulley from esslinger. They come anodised but I pollished mine.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangAluminum adjustable cam gear from esslinger. You can advance or retard your cam timing 10deg. in eather direction.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangBillet timing belt tentioner from esslinger. It a duel roller design it will take anyting you throw at it.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangEsslinger intake im running. It mounts the carb sideways for better distribution to each cylinder. In my opinon this is the best intake out there. Its primarily for dirt track but does well on the road to. I havent had any problems.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangThis is the one I will have to use if I run the svo aluminum head.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangWindage tray from RACER WALSH This helps keep oil off the crankshaft. It is said to give you 10-15 extra hores power. Its worth the money.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangThis is the one I will have to run if I strap the mains.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangAluminum flywheel weighs 8 pounds. The one I bought runs the 9 inch clutch, stock for mine was 8 1/2. This made a big improvment in hores power. Plus its safer than running a shaved flywheel witch can blow apart. With the rpm im running I feel alot safer running this flywheel.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangPro 4 header made by scholfield. Its a steped header, for better low end tork.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangThis is the one I want.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford MustangBattery cutoff switch. It is ran through my licence plate. Our track requires you to run this if your battery is in the trunk just in case of an accident and the battery was to short out.
tonysmustangs's 1984 Ford Mustang5 point harness. Also got harness pads on these thats says ford racing on them. The seats were made for them. I still have the stock seat belts for when I driving on the street because of comfort.

Love the 2.3 pictures. Man about how much HP do you have, I'm doin the same thing accept for autocross and road racing. Some of those parts tyou got I've never seen before. Hey those headlights covers come in clear and help reduce drag.

Nice stang! It's cool to see a normally aspirated 2.3 putting down some power!
