I picked up this GLC for next to nothing as a beater car.

1.5 liter SOHC engine, 75 horses, 85 ft lbs torque, 4 speed.

When I got it, it ran horribly. I changed as many parts as I could and it is running rather good, aside from slight misfiring.

At the moment however, it stalls out if you don't pump the gas and runs extremely hot.

I'm not worried about all this, because this weekend I'm driving up to Niagra Falls to pick up a race motor for the car.

The odds of me finding such a thing are crazy, but I stumbled upon this. It was once used by Team Highball back in the 80's.
This engine has a Weber 32/36 downdraft carb, custom profile cam and custom header.

If the engine install goes well, I'll be doing bodywork on the car, and have not decided what color it will be painted.

The interior has been stripped. I custom fit 4" X 6" 4 way Pioneer speakers, and I'm waiting on a head unit.

Update:

A friend and I installed the head unit, speakers, and a cheap subwoofer / amp combo. We also moved the battery to the rear.

Update:

Polished up, and going in soon.

Update: October 14th

It's alive!

It will be on the road in a few days.

Update: October 20th

Been cleaning up the bay, working on a wire tuck.

Update: November 13th.

Death by rod knock.

End.
