Bought this direct from Japan in 2003, was completely standard when I bought it. No spoiler, no rims.
The engine was really well looked after in japan and I have maintained the engine in the same way. First mod was a nice set of powder coated 17" OZ Super Leggras ; this changed the whole appearance of the car.
Next went on a set of Apexi N1 Coilover kit and a set of J's Racing Fender Braces to give the car a perfect balance.
Once the suspension side was advanced, on went a the J's Racing Carbon Fibre Bonnet , a Apexi high flow cone filter , Kakimoto N1 exhaust (manifold back) which mated to a JUN 4-1 manifold .
Next was the Venom Inlet manifold , this has bigger runners than standard allowing more air to pass thorugh once mapped properly. Along side all these mods is an Apexi VAFC2 to control the air and fuel mixture.
The car produced 194bhp when arrived from japan, Soon i'm hoping to get more power as I am going to have some engine work done including forged internals. For now, its good enough, gives me enough pleasure driving it!!!
These are the J's racing fender braces that I put on:
Here is one with my brothers DB8 Teg R, another fresh import.
Recently I have rebuilt the Head on the engine, all uprated parts, titanium valves, valve springs and retainers. Uprated stem seals, and gaskets too. Next im going to do the block, either a Jun stroker kit or a fully balanced spoon engine from Japan. Target is 270bhp.....to be continued
Update:
Since the engine build, which included oversized CP forged pistons, Eagle rods, ACL bearings, I have changed a few other things too. The suspension setup was impropved further by adding a set of HKS Hypermax 2 coilovers and these were complemented by upgrading all the suspension bushes to Energy Supension parts. I have changed the wheels to Rota Slips 16" to make it more responsive. Barkes have been changed too. The hubs now accomodate 282 size discs and 98 soec ITR calipers.
Breathing side of the engine, well, I have the exhaust header to a 5Zigen Pro racer model as the 4-1 was getting scraped everywhere (UK has nasty speed bumps). This is now mated to a Buddy Club Spec IV exhaust system. A HKS racing suction kits allows the air to enter the ported inlet.
More to come but here are a couple of pics:
