I started my solstice with one key goal in mind, to make a competitivc show car with class, style, and most importantly functionality. This car is daily driven over 80 miles a day, and was almost entirely built to better enhance my, Scott Kepple's, driving experience.
WHAT IS A SKYSTICE?
When the solstice came out, I thought to myself, that's a beautiful car, I have to have it.. but there was something about the front that was off to me.. just took away from the great curves it had on the side. Then I saw the Saturn Sky, same chassis/motor... different car.. and I thought.. wow that car looks great.. from the front.. I went out and bought the solstice.. started looking at the sky more and more and thought it would be pretty cool to have the best of both world.. same chassis.. that front end should bolt right on,,right? WRONG! Not one mounting point on the front end was the same..the body lines were completely off, the sky fenders were even 2 inches wider! Luckily a very close friend is a paint/body man at a local shop, we tore the entire car down and rebuilt the outside in just two days.. all new bodylines were added to both the hood and doors, body lines were completely shaved on the fenders, which could of been avoidable if we extended the side skirts 2 inches, but one of the main things was to keep the curve of the solstice. The end result was a curvy, sporty, and evil looking roadster, that many sky and solstice owners ask what kind of car it is!! I really hope you enjoy checking it out, its been a blast to build so far, and its only just the beginning!
