Well, here it is... my 89 Helios GLI. Beautiful car... as of this wiriting, it has 95,799 miles. The engine bay shows it. Exterior mods are few, except a lowered stance, lower profile tires, and black VW emblems. The fog lights are unfortunately gone due to a prior accident :(
I bought the car in March 2006 on a whim, and suffice to say I got a great deal on it :) The car is set up for autocross, it has Neuspeed Sports, Bilstiens, and Neuspeed strut and sway bars all around. Also has 195-55-15 Bridgestone Potenzas. Handles like it's glued to the road. Other mods include simple things like K&N, 8.2mm plug wires, Brospeed exhaust, no cat, etc. I like to do DIY, so I also have blue/red dash lighting, extra interior lights, a custom boost "chip", and relayed headlights (who knew the DOT-spec lights could use an upgrade!). Future plans might include a 2.0 block and either Euro or TT cams. Maybe a Euro intake. I plan to keep it as clean as possible, because there aren't many examples of this car left (1500 built to start with).
Well my plan failed. Car was crashed in November, 2006 :( spun out and hit a barrier on the highway. She had exactly 100,004 miles.
