Here are more pics that were taken on film. I just shot the 4 x 6 prints with the digital camera. Some pics are when a group of buddies and I rented what was known as Cayuga Dragway Park before it was revamped and renamed to Toronto Motorsports Park ( which is located a million miles west from Toronto. )
I had the V8 back then.
Group Photo on the starting line
In front of the time slip kiosk. ( the new tower is there now )
The only shade around to park cars under.
A nice shot of the Monte near the launch pad
Below is the timeslips from the the first time at the track with the new engine/tranny combo. I was running a conservative tune, trunk full of tools, pump gas, and heat soaked engine.
On Nov. 5 '06. I managed to run a few 13.0x's @ 102.8x , 1.8x 60' times. , this is on 225/70-14's street tires !!!
On Nov. 29th made a 103.4 mph pass, I calculated the 0 to 60 is approx 4.1x seconds !! ( see my favourate links )
UPDATE on OCT 28 '07 New best 60' 1.77 sec followed by a 1.78 sec.( had to abort both passes at the 330' mark due to false knock issue I was chasing )
Update Aug 4 '08 - Knock issue 99% resolved.
According to a 60' to 1/4 Mile Calculator ( see my favoutate links ) I should be able to run in the 12.7 second range.
I have to say that I'm more than pleased to see this kind of performance from a stockish V6 with 20 year old technology.
12 second runs are not far away...
Next Page, RUN !!!!!... its the " SNAKE MONTE " & annual trip to the Hunt/Fishing camp - in the Monte of course.
