Well the motor is in it and she is drivable... so i took her out for a little photo shoot
This is my 1970 AMC Javelin. Its a work in progress it should be done.
Getting the motor out and getting ready for the 401
here some pic's off my phone of the Javelin hoodless and motorless The NEW 401 ready to be rebuilt
well i was bored so i did my first photoshop i think it came out all right for my first time. its two toned, lowered, and its got some HRE 547 wheels. i plan to one day do all this when i can back up the performance to match, both cornering performance and HP
I found these pics on my sister camera this is one of the two days the car actually seen the road....thats my dad playing with the timing cuz i couldn't figure it out
**UPDATE** well i found a 401 in september 07 its all aprat and waiting for money to be put back together this winter. I won this tach off cardomain and bought the little 3 pack cluster to match **UPDATE** well i drove it a while ago and it kept over heating and the battery died. so i parked it for the night next day i looked under it and saw a puddle of oil on the ground right where the trans meets the engine..so that means i got a bad rear main bearing also the left side exhaust was smoking like crazy so i think i have a stuck ring. i did a compression test and found out i have a bad lifter after taking the intake off. then i took the heads off and found thiers a little rust on the cylinder walls. So now i am on a search for a new motor a *401* well thats the update hope to have new pictures soon
THE NEW WHEELS!! 15X8 AND 14X6
NEW GLASS!! THE SPOILER I redid the dash - painted it and put a new dash pad on, I hope to put Auto meter gauges in soon and a carbon fiber overlay
Heres the motor its a mild 360 AMC V8 it has a mild melling cam, ported heads, offenheauser intake manifold, Holley carb and a set of Headmen headers along with an accel electronic ignition
old wheels
one messed up expensive GRILLE 2 grand for a new one So far I have changed the tranny by putting in a 727 with a full manual shift valve body, 2000 TCI stall converter hooked to a B&M carbon fiber pro stick shifter. I changed the rear end,put a 3.54 posi in place of the open one. Installed a pair of 70 AMX high back seats and a 68 bench.
70 Trans AM Javelin

I REALLY debated about doing my car in one of the Big Bad colours. Your ride is amazing. Check out the progress on my 70 Javelin.
