i have a so-far stock '65 volkswagen beetle. i named it willy because i thought it fit the looks. right now it has a 1200cc flat 4-cyl. i'm rebuilding a 1600 dual port flat 4 to replace the 1200. this engine has dual kadron carbs, monzo exhaust, and an external oil cooler. if you didn't know, these engine are aircooled, so they are incredibly powerful for their weight. each engine weighs about 300 pounds and stock run about 40 hp. i'v seen vw racing engines making over 300 hp and don't weigh much more then other vw engines. the whole car is very light so the 40 hp really gets the car around.

Yes there are actually very fun to work on since there are endless possibilities as far as customizing... I have decided to go with an air suspension and wider fenders on mine... I also thought that i would be satisfied with my 1641 Dual port engine but im not so sure any more... i am really wanting a much bigger engine now. I have finished the front of the car and am beginning on the suspension on the rear... Ill post pictures asap... Let me know how Willy is comin along...
