MY 1987 SUBARU DL WAGON "Johnny 5"

SubaruDL's 1987 Subaru DLOh yes, my car, isn't she a beauty? Her name is Johnny 5.

SubaruDL's 1987 Subaru DLI just want to make sweet love to her all night long.

SubaruDL's 1987 Subaru DLHere's what she looks like when I'm wasted.

SubaruDL's 1987 Subaru DLWhat most of you see on the highway, before you pass me.

SubaruDL's 1987 Subaru DLHuge 13" rims set on some rated "S" tires. I don't settle for anything but the best.

SubaruDL's 1987 Subaru DLMassive 1.8 liter, 4 cylinder power plant produces 90 horsepower and 101 lb-ft of torque. Challenging Johnny 5 to a race is like asking for an ass whooping. Not only that, I have a full size spare under the hood.

SubaruDL's 1987 Subaru DLI had to take out the radio because my 1/4 mile time wasn't up to par. Now, I run high 20's low 21's.

Here's me doing a little illegal street racing. She won me $5 that night.

History
This is my first car. I obtained it at the age of 17. The previous owners were
my parents. They got better cars and left me with this one. I'm now 24 and
still have Johnny 5! Its been with me throughout highschool and college.
Man, its been seven glorious years (1998-2005). We're thinking about
having children, but I don't think I'm quite ready. Maybe a baby WRX in the future?

Update (2/19/06): I did get that WRX in August 2005 (see link bottom of page) For about 6 months I had two cars, which was great. But then on February 6, 2006, I sold the DL for $800, and I cried like a little girl... just kidding.

love the dl. Mine was identical, with a freaky air supercharging recirc without a turbo gadget. Manual steering. bought it out of poverty expecting a pile of crap. I cried when I broke the belly 7 years later with ZERO maintenance. Phenomonal is not strong enough adjective for this car. Years later now with gadgets and greater expenses, (newer "better" cars of course). This car is still my champion. Even has the same color. I have to pause at the sight of these cars getting oh so rare...especially the white wagon.

Hey what up, to answer your question-the dl rocked more so than the legacy when it came to driving on dirt roads and swerving to avoid pot-holes. The legacy has power everything, and I have had to disconnect some stuff to do malfunctions in her older age.
