I bought this rig on E-bay for $500. I had been doing some 4-wheeling with my S-10 Blazer & it was going to take too much money & work to get it to a point where I could do some more advanced trails.
I drove to Spokane to pick it up & drive it back home. It was 9'F when we drove by Fairchild AFB that day! That in itself is crazy cold for a resident of the rainy/wet/warmer side of the state. I should also mention that it had niether a passenger door window (just visqueen & duct tape), nor a rear driveline. After getting back to Marysville, I started to check it out, I knew the parking brake didn't work, what I didn't know, was that both rear brake drums were worn to the point that they were 2 pieces-a band of metal around the brake shoes & the plate of metal that is between the axle flange & the wheel!
I knew that the sunroof leaked, didn't know that I'd have to take it completely out to reseal it to the roof panel. It seems like you have to dismantle 2/3rds of the interior to get the headliner out!
The front differential was full of water, so I ended up changing it's oil & replacing the seals. At the same time, I repacked/resealed the front wheel bearings & manual locking hubs.
I installed the front bumper & brushguard from my Ranger, so that is how it looked by the time I took this picture.
A previous owner (the one before the person I bought it from) had installed rear springs from something else (6 leaf pack vs, stock 4 leaf pack), so rather than sitting low in the rear like most stock BII's do, mine was about 2.5" higher. I bought the F150 coil spring seats as spacers to lift up the front. It sits almost level now.
Another E-bay find scored a set of Les Schwab Wild Country TXR 31x10.50x15 tires, so it sits up a lot higher & has decent groung clearance.
