This is our latest project. We started out with a 2002 Mazda Protege5 with only 160 KM (100 Miles) on it. Our goal, to have a Phoenix Gold demo vehicle ready in only eight days. This what we came up with.

This is the car with the decals done. They too were done in the eight days.

We will have some better pics of the car up later.

What do you think of the flames?

We first started in the dash. To give the dash a little more custom look, we filled in the double din location and mounted the Alpine CDA7995 CD player ISO mount. As well we created a mount for the new Phoenix Gold EQ6 indash 6 band EQ. To finish it off the dash was painted to match the outside color.

Next we moved on to the center console. We shaved where the cup holders used to reside and placed the controls for the Phoenix Gold Bass Cube and the Phoenix Gold LPL. Between the two control knobs sits the Phoenix Gold RMD digital volt meter. Again painted to match the exterior.

Close up of the console. Kind of a poor pic.

Installed at the rear of the console is the display for the Alpine SEC8063 security system.

Up front custom kickpanels were built. Each hold the 5 1/4" & tweeter from Phoenix Gold TI 3-Way Comp three way component set. Again painted to match the exterior.

The remaining 9" midbass drivers from the Phoenix Gold TI 3-Way Comp set were installed in the doors. To keep theme, the bottoms of the doors were smoothed and painted with the factory midnight blue color.

The rear doors were removed and painted to keep the matching theme, and the rear factory speakers removed. As well all the door handles and window switch trims were painted silver.

Behind the rear seat, sits the sub enclosure. On the front of the enclosure, we installed the new Phoenix Gold DD5 delayed distribution unit, the new Phoenix Gold 10 Farad Cap, two Zeropoint distribution blocks, and two windows too see into the enclosure.

A closer look behind the seat. Through the windows you can see the baskets of the subwoofers. The inside on the enclosure is all lite with blue lighting.

Again the back is painted to match theme. Seeing a pattern here?

Making their home in this custom enclosure are two Phoenix Gold Titaniam Elite 12d 12" subwoofers.

Suppling the system with the power is four Phoenix Gold amplifiers. There are two Phoenix Gold Tantrum 500.2 two channel amps. One runs the front kickpanel speakers, and the other runs the 9" midbass in the front doors. Running the subwoofers are two Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1 mono D-class amplifiers. And again all painted to match the midnight blue exterior color.

As it would be we made our deadline to have the car at its first show just 8 days after we started it. We had very little sleep but over all are quite pleased with the final results. If you have any questions, please forward them to us at webmaster@xplosiveaudio.com or we can be reached by phone at (403)340-8956 in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada.

Nice looking P5! I really like the paint on the exterior. Does the PG 10 farad cap help out as far as headlight dimming?

Could you add how you made the kick panels for the car. I am customizing my P5 and want to make kick panels but I don't know how. Thanks
