1973 Mercury Montego MX 4 door, 351 Cleveland 2BBL I conterted to EFI A9L computer, 88 LSC harness and Fuel Rails with EFI fuel line connecting the two sides(150psi+), 76mm Mass Air Housing, '00 5.4 upper plentum with homemade billet adapter, '00 70mm Ford truck throttle body, adjustable fuel pressure regulator(Kirban), 30lb/hr Ford Motorsport injectors, block bored to 357 with Kieth Black pistons, 9.5:1 compression with 76cc chambers. 2.07 intake and 1.65 exhaust Ferrea 5000 valves, 4bbl springs, roller rockers, ARP main and head studs, screw-in rocker studs, mild torque cam, intake ports ported and polished, exhaust ports cleaned up. 3.22 Richmond "NASCAR" rear gears(polished, deburred, shot peened, spark checked, etc.) with a Lockright Locker. 3G 130A alternator, PMGR starter, both from '95 Cobra (from Auto Zone, lifetime warranty). H3 headlight conversions (relayed for more light, and to keep O.E. harness from overheating) from Pep Boys (with lines) look like O.E. from the outside. '96 Cougar seats (tan leather) replacing worn-out bench seat. 1996 Crown Victoria police interceptor shocks(improves and stiffens ride and a direct swap), 1 1/8" front and 5/8" rear sway bar, new HD springs. Dual exhaust with Hooker headers, X-pipe, Spintech mufflers, Flowmaster mandrel bent 2.5" pipes, and stainless wrapped tips. Also, a Wide-Ratio AOD; with A++ overdrive servo, 4R70W internals, hardened input shaft, and a Trans-Go shift kit setup for the firmest shift imaginable. Also, I boxed the rear lower control arms for a little more "bite" and added energy suspension bushings.
Now, I've got a Lunati cam high efficiency 268H cam & lifters, Jegs billet timing set, comp hi-tech pushrods, and a custom - one off - completely hand made - tunnel ram style intake - with a lightning twin blade throttle body (with AOD style linkage, of course) - all just begging to be finished and installed. I'll probably need to pick up a Walbro GSL392 255Lph inline fuel pump. I'll have to find a spare fuel pickup tube so I can remake it to plumb in some 3/8" fuel line to the Walbro. The 255Lph will be more than enough...for now?????...?????

man, killer merc! You're already pretty close, why not make a it a drag car haha. do the cougar seats look odd in the interior or do they fit in? torino seats are hard as hell to fine and am really close to taking the easy way out. cheack mine out 5*

Thanks. I haven't had it dynoed yet, but I've been reading a mild build Cleveland is 350-400hp, depending on the heads, cam, and intake. But, I just bought me a '92 Lincoln Mark VII LSC (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3053175), so I haven't been driving the Montego lately. But yes, it is smooth, the torque is outstanding, even with 28" tall tires, a locker, and a 3.22 out back, it still punishes the rear tires at will. It would be incredible with a 4.11 out back, but traction is already an issue. Also, gas is a...well...10-15mpg on 93 octane sucks...but account that to my right foot.

Yes, I figured I'd think outside the box. I'd like to see Trick Flow make the Clevland lower, but it'd probabley be a while.
